Lily's so nice - I used her twice!

Isn't she cute? Lily the fairy is from Pink Cat Studio (link on the left side of the page). I know two little girls who have birthdays in early April so these will be their birthday cards. The paper is CTMH and just goes wonderfully with all stamps Lily! So.....since I have three other Lily stamps - expect to see this paper and Lily to be combined again in the future.

I should mention that the card layout is CASEd from a card in the Pink Cat Studio Gallery on their site. It was perfect for this stamp!

Lily's panels were cut with my nestabilities but the left half-circles were done with my Cricut...AND yes, I used my CDS software to do it. How lazy can you get? When a compass and a pair of scissors would have sufficed, I had to hook up the cricut to the laptop just so the machine could do the cutting for me. I have no shame.

I am also tickled today because I got my Doodlefactory stamps today. Yippee....now I'll have to stop at Heather's Stamping Haven courtesy of Jenn and Brooks (and Buck and Niko) for some EZ-mount to get them ready for using! ..... and probably a few new stamps while I'm at it. Since I'll be there and all. So convenient that the store is on my way home....tee hee hee.

No new photos -- yet

Well, I haven't had a chance to photograph the two cards I made over the course of three nights. But I should get to it tomorrow night -- maybe. They are, if I do say so myself, uber-cute.

I spent Friday night stamping with my neighbour - time flies when you are having fun and I filled up four sheets in my water colour pad with images! Just waiting to be coloured and transformed into cards. Then, no doubt due to my late night, I felt like $%$$ on Saturday so no crafting.

I was saving my energy for an AWESOME day at a Jenn workshop in Rideau Ferry! We made three GORGEOUS cards, a really neat origami box and the cutest gable tote! Makes me want to start making chocolates again so I can make cute little boxes and bags to put them in!

It's been a long time...

well, over a week, since I last posted. Still no card but so many new goodies - I got a package today from Verve with my new stamps and the set I won during their release party. While I was away last week, my March CTMH order came in....more goodies. And I still haven't had a chance to play with my goodies from Heather's Stamping Heaven or Pink Cat Studio.

BSG is calling tonight - so probably no tidying or playing in the craft room tonight. But with American Idol on Tuesday night...I might just venture into the craft room for some less than intellectual tv viewing and craft room tidying....

Happy Pi Day

Darn it...have not made a card for Pi day today - it is just too close to cake day (Doug's birthday was yesterday and yes we had yummy cake)!

Had to go to Heather's Stamping Haven today (link in the left side-bar) because Jenn was over last night and introduced me to an awesome item she got at Heather`s store - the perfect sheets for storing my EZ-Mounted rubbah stamps on! Of course, I could not stop there and also got myself a couple of sets of celtic knot stamps - designed by Heather herself. How cool is that?

Funny thing is - when I got in the car after making my purchase I realized that St. Patty's day is just around the corner. There must be some Irish in me guiding my purchase today!

One More Birthday Card

So the big day has arrived. Doug can peek now! Can you guess how old he is today? The sketch is from Mojo Monday Week 77 here .

The sentiment was totally suggested by one of my sci-fi nerd-boy co-workers. That is not an insult by the way - ours is a total nerd house. I usually have the SPACE network tuned in when I am in my craft room.

Papers are all CTMH. I think these are rapidly becoming my favourites to use on guy cards. Yes - you have seen them many times before already!

Still no peeking for Doug

Again, if you are my dearly beloved Doug...back away from this post if the current date is less than March 13. But I bet you aren't Doug. So you can peek at this card for my Doug.

I used the CPS 106 sketch from here for this card. I thought the curve of the guitar fit the curve of the sketch perfectly. And since I have had this RockStar paper stack for ages waiting to scrap something for my Doug (he plays guitar), I figured I would dip into it for another birthday card for him.




The You Rock sentiment and flourishes are inkadinkado stamps that have been heat embossed with silver metallic embossing powder.

I'm sure he will like it. Now to see if I can squeeze in another card for him before tomorrow!

Okay, you say you aren't Doug. Well, you can see the card I made for his birthday. I used this sketch from Sketch Saturday.

Doug recently commented that more cards need to use acetate. Plus, I love to use metal on cards I make for him. One way to making a card masculine I say! Metal...more metal! In this case, some copper sheets and copper mesh I have been ...saving...yes saving...for a special card. A co-worker's girlfriend RAKed it to me quite some time ago.

Anyhow....here is the card.




It was very difficult to photograph. Tried a black background ...that didn't work. So, then I tried it with a white background. Seems to have turned out better.

Elements of the card - acetate base, copper mesh attached with copper eyelets (love the crop-a-dile). Nestabilities labels for the image panel and sentiment panel. The hearts are copper mesh cut with my cuttlebug dies with the two-step heart also cut from black card stock layered on top. The cupcake is from inkadinkado and stamped with stazon on copper and then the frosting is layered paper-pieced from white card-stock. The I love you and happy birthday are stamped in copper and are Studio G images I believe.

There is also an inner panel (not visible in the photo), that is a nestabilities label cut from copper with a white card stock panel layered on top. Already signed and ready for giving.

I hope to find more time to make him another card before his birthday on Friday.

Much Excitement

I am SOOOO thrilled today - despite it being the aftermath of DST AND getting paged last night for work.

I was one of the winners from the Verve Stamps March release buildup! Yay!

I am so tickled!!!!!!! Now, everyone I know who is of baby making age....get out there and make babies so I can make you the MOST adorable baby cards!

Of course, I also took the opportunity to finally place an order with Verve. Their sets are so elegant. I can't wait to get my order!

Time for some kitty loving

This is me and my Packet. He doesn't look quite so thrilled here but believe me, seconds earlier he was in the throes of an "I love Mamma" cuddle.


And this was a little earlier during dinner. He was trying to lay claim to HIS steak. Not happening PooPoo!

And this is my dearly beloved with our other little one....Newton. Newton is .... shall we say... persistent. His favourite perch during dinner is on Doug's shoulder. He made a valiant attempt to get some steak. Packet is looking on, hopeful as well. Yeah, they were cute enough to get some steak.


And this little cutie....OH MY GOD!!! This is Niko. Jenn and Brooks' new baby. Isn't he the cutest? I don't think he was very impressed with us trying to get his baby pic. Doug is lurking behind him with his phone trying to take his picture. Just look at that pose. Those cute little paws. Don't you just want to eat him up?

Anyways, that's my break from card posts. Must head up to the craft room to mount my new stamps from Pink Cat Studio.....I got FOUR....count 'em FOUR new sets. They are just too cute. But not as cute as Niko.
