Canadians - Stop the Meter on Your Internet Usage

Hi folks.....if you aren't interested in reading a quasi-political post then you might want to skip this post.

In Canada, the CRTC has given approval to allow ISPs to bill internet users based on their usage. Now, I'm not a big downloader of anything except sketches for cards, ebooks and online magazine subscriptions. We don't download tv and movies. For music, dearly beloved is a fan of Jamendo as it is completely free and legal music downloads of music published under Creative Commons licenses. Lots of creative, independent artists publish here - check it out if you haven't already.

ANYWAY -- back to the rant. Seriously? You want to charge me more my dear ISP? Gah - in Canada we already overpay for cell phones, internet, cable, whatever. So...if you think this is absolutely ridiculous here's your chance to speak up!

pop over to OpenMedia.ca and sign their petition! Or you can do so through the form below:

whatever, just SPEAK UP or you don't get to complain when your internet bill shows up in the mail!
