Wedding Celebrations

Hi folks,

Today I'm sharing the card I made for the recent wedding of one of the daughter's of a dear friend.

I've known her since birth so it was an honour to be invited to attend the celebration of this very special day. And the really cool thing? The Mr & Mrs on the sentiment were a match for wedding cake topper!

Celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary

Hi folks,

Just popping in to share the card and quilt I made for my parents for their 50th anniversary.

My renewed interest in quilting the last few years is one of the reasons why my card-making has kind of fallen by the wayside. But I'm finding quilting to be a very satisfying hobby at the moment so....that's just the way it is. There's only so many hours on the weekends and, these days, quilting fills those hours.

I started this quilt at the "Galentine's Day" workshop at Mad About Patchwork. The pattern is from the "I Heart You Quilt" pattern but I made mine a touch bigger. The original had only 16 hearts but I made this one with 25 hearts, each with two fabrics to represent my parents' 50 years of marriage.

I Love Every Little Thing About You

Hi folks,

Today I'm sharing a card I made for dearly beloved.

This one was a quick, but I think elegant, make.

It measures 6 x 6 inches and uses the paper and stickers from the "Every Little Thing" collection from CTMH.

This collection is only available until the end of October so be sure to shop soon if you need to pick it up!

Celebrating a 9th birthday

Hi folks!

Just thought I would pop in over the next few days to share a few cards I have made recently for the many occasions that have been celebrated the past few weeks. It's been quite a whirlwind!

Up first is this card I made for one of my nieces - she celebrated her 9th birthday on the day I arrived back in Newfoundland for a visit.

I used retired Mix-in papers from CTMH from earlier this year. I just love those pops of pink and aqua with the black and white. With every idea book, CTMH releases a set of mixin papers that coordinate with the current collections. I find them VERY versatile and often use them standalone. Be sure to check out the current collection HERE.

The image is from The Greeting Farm (love their stamps for the younglings).

The sentiment is from a stamp set in the September/October CTMH Idea Book - A True Classic

That's it for now! Be sure to check back in the coming days for a few more recent makes featuring the "Every Little Thing" Collection from CTMH.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

October Hawthorn CTMH Cross Canada Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our October Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Hawthorn collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, this collection has something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop - and it turns out that this month I'm actually the start of the hop! Kind of fitting since I am originally from Newfoundland and I just returned yesterday from our easternmost province! If you got here from Kristine's blog then you are in the correct spot!

As usual, I am sharing cards I made with this month's feature collection.

The layout for this first card was scrap-lifted from a scrapbooking layout in the idea book. Do you recognize it? The image and sentiment are from the Hawthorn Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts set. Confession: I didn't use the thin cuts because my craftroom is STILL in transition and I don't know in which bin I packed my Cuttlebug. I WAS able to find my Nutmeg inkpad though!

For this second card, I fuzzy cut the hexi paper. I'm a quilter and a BIG fan of English Paper Piecing (which traditionally uses the hexi shape) so I HAD to use this paper. The stamps are from the "Giving Thanks" stamp set from the recent "Share the Seasons" Bundle (psst. I have extras of the stamp sets if anyone is looking because they missed out!). This card will be for spouse for Thanksgiving.

That's it for me! Up next is Brae

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we are able to inspire you in some way. If so, please leave us a comment as we love to hear back from the hoppers! We hope you are able to join us again next month. So be sure to mark November 10th on your calendar. And don't forget, you can reach out to your local consultant to purchase any of the items you see on the hop today!

As always, thanks for stopping by!
