TGFCCN5 - Musical Inspired

Hi folks,

well I made it into the craft room today to work on a couple of cards for The Greeting Farms April Friday Customer Chat Night Challenge.

This month's challenge is to create a project inspired by a musical play or musical movie your TGF stamps. Well, lots of ideas came to mind during the chat on Friday night. Too many if truth be told! I have SO many ideas. I hope I can get into the craft room again before tomorrow's deadline to maybe make another one or two!

Now my favourite musicals would be hard to match up to TGF images. I'm a BIG fan of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". And pretty much any other musical involving drag queens. In fact, we just saw "Rent" AGAIN a month ago.

Anyways, I thought that my Flapper Anya image would make a great image for card inspired by the musical/movie "Chicago" - in particular, the promotional posters seen here.

So, what do you think?

The red glitter circle is supposed to be reminiscent of the red C behind the actors in the promo posters.

Not sure how well you can tell in the photos but EVERYTHING is glittered. The background white glitter papers are from Core'Dinations. The red glitter paper and silver glitter paper paper-pieced for Velma's dress/headband I got long ago at Heather's Stamping Haven. Roxie's dress/headband were actually glittered by hand. I stamped the image onto Sookwang tape I had applied to black cardstock, then cut it out and covered with a black microfine glitter (also from Heather's).

The over-the-top feather accent was a total "aha" moment. I had these little embellies in my stash from ages ago - picked up at Pritchard Packaging probably 2 years ago or more.

TGF Farm Fresh Challenge #13

Hi folks,

just popping in with a quick card (for me) that I made tonight. It only took me about an hour or so (because I already had the image coloured) - man I am SLOW!!!

This card is going in the post tomorrow for a friend for her birthday. It will likely arrive late as her birthday is on January 9th and it has to travel to Newfoundland. I hope she likes it!

Graduation Times Two

My dear friend Dorothy has two twelve year old daughters who will have a graduation ceremony on Tuesday. I decided to make them cards to match their dresses that they chose for the day. I also was inspired by the card class yesterday to use the same pop-up style for their cards.

This purple card is for Grace. She is an amazing writer with an imagination and talent beyond her years.

With that in mind, I chose the sentiment "Soar High" from The Greeting Farm Wild Things set to go with Graduation Anya. I think if she lets her talents take wing, she will have a bright future ahead.

Marie has a teal dress so this is her card. Marie has a sparkling personality and she loves to please everyone around her.


With that in mind, I chose the "Lead" sentiment, again from The Greeting Farm Wild Things set. I guess I think that Marie needs to focus more on being the leader rather than the follower who tries to make everyone else happy. She has a great future ahead of her if she follows HER dreams and not those of her peers.

Our message to each of the girls is written on the back of the card.

Anya Blog Hop

Hey there everyone who is hopping by as part of the Club Anya Blog Hop. My Anya post for tonight does not really fit one of the judged categories but I had this little project in mind for a co-worker's girlfriend's birthday. She's a crafty person too and I am fairly certain she will like this! A departure for me - it is not a card!



Geisha Anya adorns a little gift bag I cut out with my Cricut Expression. Even the panels were cut with my Cricut. I played around with the Cricut Design Studio software to manipulate the images to just the size I wanted and presto....there you have it. A cute little gift bag. If anyone would like to have the cut file, drop me a line and I will find a way to share it with you!

The papers are all CTMH (don't you think they look GREAT with Geisha Anya?) as are the inks. Geisha Anya's hair is a separate layer, inked with Versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder. A little white gel pen was used to redraw her hair-lines. Her face was coloured with watercolour pencils. The kanji symbol and english phrase I thought went just perfectly with Geisha Anya.

The brads serve a structural as well as decorative purpose. I don't trust just adhesive tape runner to keep my bags together so I decided to toss on a few strategically placed brads for extra security.

Easter Anya

This is the Easter card I spent Saturday afternoon making for my dearly beloved.




The sketch is #46 from Sketch Saturday . I modded it a little by flipping it clockwise.


The sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio .

The image is the digital stamp Easter Anya by the Greeting Farm with just a little mod. I "trimmed" her locks so that HER hairstyle more closely resembled MINE, right down to the colour. Well, sort of, truth be told, mine has more grey that mysteriously disappears from time to time!

If you have seen any of my earlier easter card postings you will recognize the papers and ribbons used here. Not sure why, but purple and yellow say Easter to me. Maybe it has something to do with the flowers that are peeking from the ground in my yard.

Now, the colours in the photo are a little off. Anya's dress is supposed to have a skirt that is CTMH Hydrangea in colour but I find it looks more blue in the photo. Oh well, blame Mr Easter Bunny for the picture quality. Not only did he NOT bring me a DSLR, he apparently forgot to get me ANY chocolate. Not even a CARD! In protest I walked to Starbucks this afternoon for a Grande Cappucino and a REALLY BIG cookie! It was as far as I could go from the house what with being chained with two pagers and all for the long weekend. Yes, a civil servant's job is SOOOO cushy {read with sarcasm}.

Did you notice that the bunny ears are fun-flocked? Had to do something to liven them up a little.
