Jeepers Creepers - Not just for Hallowe'en!

Hi folks!

Popping in today to share this card for my niece who celebrates her birthday today!!!

Believe it or not, the papers on this card are from this year's Hallowe'en themed papers - Jeepers Creepers - from Close To My Heart and from the Adventure Fundamentals pack.

For anyone who likes purple and/or teal, this is a great all year paper pack - not just for Hallowe'en. In fact, the sentiment actually comes from the coordinating "Monstrous Hallowe'en" (Z4006) thin cuts & stamp set bundle and the washi tape? Also from the Jeepers Creepers collection!

Pro tip: grab coordinating papers from the various Fundamentals paper packs to go with the seasonal papers! It's a great way to expand your creative choices.

A little mermaid gift for you

Hi folks,

If you are here to check out my GIU Blog Hop post, please scroll down to the previous post.

I'm just popping in today to share another birthday card for another niece.

This one is a fun little mermaid card using some older Echo Park papers from my stash - because, you know, a mermaid card NEEDS beach-y themed papers.

card details:

  • finished size: 5 x 5 inches, white card stock base.
  • patterned paper:  Echo Park Splash (wow! It's from 2011!)
  • stamped image: The Greeting Farm "Oona", coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E11, E01, E00, R20, R0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, Y35, Y38, C1, BV0000, BV000). I also added some sparkle with my shimmer brush.
  • sentiment: CTMH Petite Perks "A Little Love" (contact me if you want to find out how to get this handy mini stamp set)
  • layout: Tuesday Throwdown #311

Growing In Unity Blog Hop

Hi folks!

Today I'm taking part in a little Growing In Unity Blog Hop where past Growing In Unity Gals take the chance to share with you again a creation using our favourite Unity Stamps!

Be sure to visit each of the blogs on the hop and leave a comment for a chance to win!

If you came here from Rachel Bogner's blog, then you are on the right track.

Today, I'm sharing a card using one of my fave Angie Girls "Diana Girl".

Did anyone else watch "Wonder Woman" when they were a kid? Yup! I did! Maybe that's why I love this image. I had some fun with this card, using a clear acetate overlay with some gold dots on it to give this card some pop.

I won't keep you long. Be sure to hop along to your next stop at Deirdere's blog after you leave a comment!

And if you get lost along the way, the full list of stops is right here:

Have a Happy Day

Hi folks,

I had a busy day in my craft room getting cards made for some upcoming birthdays. I'll be sharing them over the course of the next few days.

This is a card for my niece who has a birthday coming in October. She will be twelve this year so I struggled a little with what to do for her card. I didn't want it too be cutesy and I didn't want it to be too grown up. I think it came out just how I wanted.

Birthday Wishes

Hi folks,

Card maker confession time - I've gotten really bad about getting cards out on time for birthday celebrations. Part of it is lack of mojo, part of it is feeling tired and drained all the time, part of it is having to find just the right image and paper. I'm playing catch up this weekend so you can expect to see a few more better late than never cards in the coming days.

Anyways, this card is for my niece who celebrated her birthday back in July. She's in Ottawa this coming week for a sport camp with Encounters Canada so I will be able to give the card to her in person during our very limited visit time. They keep a close eye on the kids during their week here but her parents were able to give us permission to take her offsite for a couple of hours Monday night.

card details:

  • finished size: 6 x 6, CTMH Flaxen card base
  • patterned paper & sequins: CTMH Florence (retired)
  • stamped image: Unity Stamp Co - July KOM - Glittering Eyes, coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E11, E02, E00, E93, E23, E27, E29, YG63, B91, B93, B95, B97, E41, E42, Y32, Y38)
  • sentiment: Verve "Amazing Wishes"
  • layout: Mojo Monday 463 (I didn't do tall and skinny but I was inspired by the sketch)

Everyday Wonder Woman

Hi folks,

Just popping in this morning to share a card I made for friend who just celebrated a milestone birthday.

She's a mom to four, has a full time career in tech AND is the dungeon master for dearly beloved's D&D group. All around pretty awesome so I decided for her birthday card that I wouldn't actually put a birthday greeting on the outside - but a sentiment that would fit if she wanted to keep the card around as a reminder of her awesome-ness. Birthday greeting was easily written inside.

card details

  • finished size: 6 x 6, CTMH Flaxen card stock base
  • patterned paper: CTMH Florence (retired)
  • stamped image: Unity Stamp Co "Diana Girl", coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E11, Y28, Y18, Y08, R46, R43, R14, R17, R27, R29, B93, B95, B97, E21, E23, E25)
  • embellishments: CTMH Florence Sequins, Gold Foil Tape

Jeepers Creepers - September Featured Paper Collection

Hi folks,

Have you seen the new Jeepers Creepers collection from CTMH which just debuted in the new Holiday Expressions Idea Book?

Light-hearted and fun - that's what it is all about.

As usual, there's really only one double-sided paper that is Halloween-y  (the upper left with the silly monsters and googly eyes).  The rest are very versatile and can easily be used all year round. Actually, even the monster/googly eye paper makes for fantastic greeting cards all year round - as you can see in the Holiday Expressions Idea Book.

And do you have any Harry Potter fans in your house? Well check out that lightning bolt paper, the washi tape and sticker assortment.

And don't forget, if you just have to have it all, you can get the entire collection in the Jeepers Creepers Workshop Your Way - along with five sheets of coordinating card stock!

And I can't go without mentioning the Monstrous Thin Cuts bundle which coordinates beautifully with this collection.

I'm a big fan of coordinating stamps and dies - saves me the fussy cutting!

Of course, as a card-maker, I'm a big fan of the Party Time card-making kit that uses the Jeepers Creepers papers - it's NOT Hallowe'en themed!

Take a look at the cards from this workshop. Aren't they great?

And don't forget, if you want to see how other people are getting creative with the Jeepers Creepers collection, just search for #ctmhjeeperscreepers on your favourite social media site!

Of course, with the new Holiday Expressions Idea Book comes a new round of stamp of the month deals. For September,  it is the lovely autumn themed "Blessed Beyond Measure" (S1609)

As always, you can purchase this D-size stamp for the full retail price of $23. Or, with your qualifying $50 purchase, you can pick it up for just $6.

And check out this artwork from CTMH Home Office featuring the SOTM.

Wouldn't this be a lovely addition to your Thanksgiving feast decor?

And did you know that September is National Stamping Month? That's right, it is! And Close To My Heart has a special limited edition mini card making kit available only during September to celebrate.

Here's a closeup of the #CreateKindness Kit

Kit contents:

8 – Exclusive M-size stamp sets
1 – Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ mini stamp pad

Of course, I already have my kit but I haven't even opened it yet - it's a busy time of year for me with the garden harvest. But I have some plans for using these little card bases that aren't necessarily going to be your standard make with the kit. I'll be sure to share when I finally crack open the organizer!

Oh - and bonus! You can order the "bits" of the kit individually. So, if you want more card bases & envelopes - you can get them without ordering the full kit! Love those mini-stamps? Or just a few of them? You can order each of them individually right here! But they are only available during September!
