Viva La Verve September Week 4

Hi folks!

Just thought I would pop in this morning to share my creation for the September Week 4 Viva La Verve Sketch challenge before I get busy canning in my kitchen again. Yes - I AM actually up this early on a saturday morning. I've been up since a little after 5am.

Birthday Wishes!

Surprise!!! Earlier this month, Denice, one of my fellow design team members at Yumi & Fumi Handmade celebrated her birthday. Well, even though we are a little late, the rest of us didn't want to let the occasion go by without sending her BIG BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!! So today we are throwing a little online party in her honour!

The Sisterhood of Crafter's - Tag You're It!

Hi folks!

It's Wednesday and that means it is time to share my creation for the current challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Until October 6th we're playing a little game of "Tag You're It!". That's right, we would love to see you feature a tag on card or project!

I decided to make the tag on my card removable - so it can be used by the recipient as an inspirational book mark!

Here's t card with the tag tucked in behind the image and sentiment panels. The panels are popped up with dimensional foam tape and the buttons at the top of the tag help to keep it from sliding down too far behind the image panel. Clever, huh?

And here's a photo of the card with the tag so you can see the inspirational message.

I think both sentiments I chose for this project work very well with the image.

Now get busy creating! I can't wait to check out your creations for the "Tag You're It" Challenge!.

Mojo Monday 311

Good morning everybody!!!

It's early for a Saturday morning but anyone who knows me knows that I am an early riser (I've been up since 5am) . I've got a busy day planned for today. I'll be canning pear butter that I have had simmering in my crock pot for hours on end this week AND I'll be canning pickled beets. So, I thought I would pop on the old interwebs and share this card while I wait for my dishwasher to finish washing the jars before I sterilize them in my canner.

It has been a while since I have had a chance to play along with the Mojo Monday sketches so when I sat down to make a card for a friend of mine I took a look at this week's sketch and decided to use it.

Feeling Christmas-y on a Sunday morning!

Just thought I would pop in with a quick little post to share the other card I made with "Bob the Yeti".

Funny story about this card. As you may know, Sunday's are the days that the design teams share their creations for the latest challenge over at Yumi and Fumi Handmade. This week marks the start of a new challenge to make "a christmas tag". Team Yumi is sharing their creations today and my team, Team Fumi, will be sharing ours next week. Well, yours truly saw Christmas and not tag and made this card to share next week. I realized my oops though and will be preparing a different project for my challenge post! But I figured this card was too cute not to share so....here you go!

The Sisterhood of Crafter's - Divine Digi's Challenge

If you are a frequent visitor then you have probably noticed a new addition to my sidebar. That's right! Challenge #23 - Back to School with Yumi & Fumi Handmade

Hi folks,

It's Sunday so that means I am sharing my Team Fumi creation for Challenge #23 over at the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Challenge Blog.

Challenge #23 is a "back to school" themed challenge and you have until this coming Friday to link up your challenge entries at the Y&FH challenge post for a chance to win!

The minute I saw the subject for this challenge I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to make - a picture frame "white board". Not sure what that is? Well, here you go!

These fun little message boards are so easy-peasy to make. Take a clear, clip style picture frame - whichever size suits your needs. You can go as big (mine is 10 inches by 12 inches) or as small as you like. Then put together a fun layout - just be sure to leave some spaces to write your reminders or messages. Since this IS a picture frame it already has the spots on the back from which it can be hung on the wall in your child's study area. Or, you can attach some heavy-duty rare earth magnets to the back to stick in a school locker or on the refrigerator.

Be sure to use white-board or wash-off markers so your messages aren't permanent!

This card is for the wedding shower for my brother's fiancee this coming weekend. I won't be there as it is in Newfoundland but there is a prezzie in the post for the happy occasion. Black, white and bright fuchsia are the colours for their wedding so I decided to use them on the wedding shower card.

Surprise!

It's a special someone's birthday today!!! Yep we're celebrating Leanne Fumiko Poe's - aka the Original "Fumi" birthday today with a little blog-land surprise! A bunch of us got together to make Leanne's day a little extra special.

I thought it only fitting to celebate with a cheery little Fumi Panda birthday card.

And you guessed it - Fumi Panda was stamped and coloured on polyshrink plastic (aka Shrinky Dinks) to make a little charm. If Leanne is so inclined, she will be able to remove the charm from the card and attach it to her key chain, purse, back pack, tote, etc and everyone will know that it is hers - just as soon as the card reaches her in the post!
