2017 Christmas Cards - The first of Many

Hi Folks!!!

I know, I know. Christmas? Already? Yes! Actually, I'm overdue. Every year I sign up for the Christmas Card Challenge on Splitcoaststampers in an effort to get my Christmas cards done sooner rather than later. I invariably fall of the wagon early in the year. Well this year, I fell off REALLY early. I didn't get any cards made in January. The "cards" were against me so to speak. Ba ha ha ha!

Anyways, I found this little 3 x 3 inch scrap of CTMH Snowhaven patterned paper on my craft table today. Made a couple of creative cuts with it, grabbed this already coloured image from my stash of leftover images (I think from my 2015 Christmas cards) et voila! One card down, dozens more to go.

card details:

  • finished size: 5 x 5 inches, white card stock base
  • patterned paper: CTMH Snowhaven (retired)
  • stamped image: Penny Black "A Cool Christmas", coloured with Copic Markers (YR16, YR15, B12, Y18, E35, E37, N5, R27, R29, YG61, YG63, YG67)
  • embellishments: CTMH Red Enamel Gems

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Hi folks!

He seems to know what it's all about....

getting into the prezzie....

and yes, Packet also had his own birthday card

my first time inking up some new to me Penny Black stamps I picked up at our Crop for the Cure in May from Tina's Scrapbooking Creations (from nearby Winchester).

feel free to call me crazy cat lady....haven't made any cards in what seems like forever and what do I make? A card for my cat. Off to the loonie bin for me I think!

Gift hedgy

I needed to make a card for my dearly beloved's youngest niece - her birthday is on Sunday and we should be seeing her this Friday before she heads back home to Alberta. I took my inspiration from this card that was posted over at the PaperWorksCo Blog today. Thanks for the inpiration Judy! I just loved the idea of using the nestabilities OFF-CENTRE instead of perfectly lined up. So this is what I came up with for the 2nd birthday of a cute little girl.

It had to be bright....so yellow and pink it was! EVERYWHERE! Well, except for Hedgy. The little daisy in the bottom left is actually a button but I popped out the centre and replaced it with a pink brad so it would sit a little better on the card.

Hedgy was coloured with a whole bunch of things - distress ink, prismacolors and ctmh markers.

Here are the deets!

card dimensions: 4 x 5.5 inches

Pink DP: 4 x 5.5 inches
Yellow DP: 3.75 x 5.25 inches

Nestabilities: scalloped ovals from the small and large sets.
embellishments: ribbon, button, brads
stamp: Penny Black Gift Hedgy

Prismacolor Pencils: 904, 1067
Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Tattered Rose
CTMH Markers: Pink Carnation, Sunkiss Yellow, Baby Pink, Petal, Sweet Leaf, Bubblegum
