July SFYTT x 2

Hi folks,

I had some time to sit down and craft this weekend. I decided it was time to make my card (as it turns out cards - plural) for the July SFYTT challenge.

Here's this month's SFYTT:

The first one is a 6x6 sympathy card:

The second one, is a 4.25 x 5.5 card for my sweetie (it was in his lunch today)

I find it's just as easy to make two cards as it is to make one (most of the time) - you have the papers and everything out all already.

I know - ANOTHER Father's Day card! What can I say, if I do Mother's day cards for all the women in  our family then it is only fair that I make Father's day cards for all the guys.

I think this one looks rather sharp, don't you? Personally, I love a guy in a nicely pressed shirt, tie (optional) and pants. Casual elegance.

WOYWW - June 15th and Viva La Verve Week 1

Hi folks!

It's Wednesday - time for a peek at my desk for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Believe it or not, this is tidied up from yesterday!

Down front you can see the card I mentioned in the previous post that I  had to "fix" (more on that later).

My Copic chart is there as well as I pulled it out to make another order from Lora at OneCrazyStamper. On this order, I'm planning on getting the rest of the BG and YG markers that I don't have in my collection. That's about another 30 I do believe.

And something you don't see very often - my set of PrismaColor pencils. Yes, I have the big set - 120 pencils. I had them out colouring the lighthouse image that was used on two of my Father's Day cards and the birthday card you see in the photo.

Now for those  of you who stuck around, here's the card in the photo! Yes, I know, for you regular readers that this is my third card this week with this image and these papers. But this one will be a birthday card for one of my Uncles.

What I had to fix? The sentiment panel. Originally, I had inked the edges (as I did on the previous card) instead of distressing them with my scissors. Totally wrong since, on this card, the card stock had all been scissor distressed and the patterned papers were ink distressed. Totally wrong. I could NOT leave that inconsistency on the finished card.

well the image on this card is going to look a bit familiar. I had coloured up three of them and dearly beloved liked the card I did for my Dad for Father's Day so much that I wound up making the card for his Dad with the same image.

Shining Light - Happy Father's Day

Hi folks,

back today with another of this year's Father's Day cards. The first one was for my brother, this one is for my Dad.

I finally tried something I've been meaning to try since seeing Tanya do this technique so skillfully - colouring with my PrismaColor pencils on kraft paper. This was the PERFECT image for this technique.  The white of the lighthouse shows up so nicely on this paper. I even added some "fog" with my cloud blue pencil.

I know a lot of you out there struggle with masculine cards. Me? No problemo. I actually find them easier than girlie girl cards. My secret - great masculine papers and classic images or just a simple sentiment. It helps that most of the "masculine" colours are more my style.

Mojo 194 for Father's Day

Well, I finally started making my Father's Day cards today. Late I know, but, my mojo went for a hike a few times this past month when I meant to make them - the courier or ExpressPost will be used to get them home this year.

And yes, I said cards. I make a few cards for Father's Day - just like Mother's Day. So that got me wondering, how many Father's Day cards does everybody else make? Just for your Dad? Your hubby? Your brother? Your brothers-in-law? Anyone else? I usually also make one for my sister.

And since it is Tuesday, here's a photo of my crafty space. Actually, the shelves ABOVE my crafty space where I store my ribbons and some of my embellies.

In the next few days, I should FINALLY get around to organizing my ribbons in my Ribbon Box that I won a couple of months back from The Original Scrapbox.

As you can see, even though I have containers for my ribbons, once they get taken out, it takes a while for them to get put back where they belong.  I'm hoping the Ribbon Box will cure me of this problem since I won't actually have to take the ribbons out to use them.

Oh, and since I did actually craft on Monday night, here's a peek of what the desk below looked like when I finished for the night.

Tulips for SSS106

Wow, can you believe it that another month has come and gone and we are now into May? And Mother's day is just a week away and I am still making Mother's day cards for all the special Mom's
in the family?

Here's another one I made using the same Tulip image you have seen on the other two I've already finished. I DO have one more of these already coloured up but I think it might get saved for a birthday card or something.

Dark Chocolate or White Chocolate?

Hi folks (second post for today - feel free to scroll down for the previous post),

I got crafty this afternoon and coloured up a few images to use on my Easter cards. One of the images I coloured up was the digi image Easter Egg Cocoa from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I actually down-loaded four new (to me) Cocoa Mouse digis so you will be seeing them pop up on the blogarooni over the next little while.

I could not decide if Cocoa should be popping out of a dark chocolate Easter Egg or a white chocolate Easter Egg, so I did both! Personally, I don't like white chocolate. I like a nice dark chocolate, about 85% or so is my fave. Dearly beloved actually likes 99% chocolate - blech. It's like eating a spoonful of cocoa.

Here's the first - with a white chocolate egg, using somewhat more traditional Easter colours for the patterned papers.

And here's the second, with a dark chocolate egg, with more boyish colours for the card.

I figure the white egg card will go to one of our nieces and the dark chocolate egg can go to one of our nephews or to grown-ups.
