Holiday Cheer from Yeti Fumi - SC459

Hi folks,

So today is Hallowe'en here in North America. As usual, I have my twenty pumpkins bought. Sadly, I was feeling under the weather last night so my sweetie and I did not get around to gutting and carving them. Oh well. That just works out better for extending their shelf life for turning them into pumpkin puree and pumpkin pickles (after the insides have been scooped out and the seeds roasted, of course). Maybe I could get the kids who knock on our doors to carve them as a reward for their Hallowe'en treats. What do you think?

Anyways, my card for today jumps ahead to the next big holiday celebration here in Canada - Christmas! I figure it's only fitting since the Christmas decorations have been out in the stores here for weeks already!

As some of you may know, I have just returned from a quick little visit to Newfoundland where I took part in my brother's wedding.

Today, I am sharing the card I made for him and his new bride in order to celebrate the happy occasion - yep, that's ANOTHER one to add to the list of October events in my celebrations calendar! It's getting quite crowded in there now!!! Might be time to make a new perpetual calendar!

Anyways, here is their card - in their wedding colours. Black and hot pink.

Funny thing with this card is that I STARTED out with the Mojo Monday 273 sketch (from LAST year) - but it didn't wind up that way. I wound up just winging it because of the size of the image, the sentiment and size of card I wanted to make.

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Fall/Hallowe'en - Oct 23

It's Wednesday and you know what that means - I'm sharing my final creation as a Step Sister for The Sisterhood of Crafters! Yumi & Fumi Handmade Challenge #26 - Anything Goes

Hi folks,

It's Sunday so that means I am sharing my Team Fumi creation for Challenge #26 over at the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Challenge Blog.

I have a surprise for you today - I decided to switch things up a little for this challenge and make something other than a card! I picked up these wonderful little tins at a local packaging store and they are perfect for dressing up a little gift card or $$ as a present.

I think that "Fumi with Gift" is the absolutely perfect image to go on the front of this little gift tin. Of course, I had to do a little something to the inside of the tin to dress it up just a little bit.

Soccer Josh - SCRS Challenge #115

Hi folks,

Long time no blogging! I've been VERY busy this past week as we were preparing to head to Newfoundland for my brother's wedding. Yesterday was a very long day for us - flying half-way across the country and then driving half-way across the province. Today, we've basically been recovering. Mother Nature was kind enough to oblige us with a crappy weather day (raining all day and windy to boot!) so we didn't get out and about to walk along the beach or to go sight-seeing around the peninsula. I had lots of time on my hands so I figured I may as well get to writing up a few blog posts.

Of course, this past weekend was Thanksgiving here in Canada so we spent Thanksgiving day with my dearly beloved's family. In addition to celebrating Thanksgiving, we also celebrated the recent birthday of the youngest nephew.
