CPS222 and WOTT

Hi folks,

well the image on this card is going to look a bit familiar. I had coloured up three of them and dearly beloved liked the card I did for my Dad for Father's Day so much that I wound up making the card for his Dad with the same image.

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches
  • stamped image and sentiment: Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps "Shining Light", coloured with PrismaColor Pencils (938, 988, 1070, 1076, 1072, 1030, 1023)
  • patterned papers: Gartner Studios Bon Voyage Map
  • cardstock: CTMH Cocoa (the panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug Script folder), Bamboo, Kraft
  • Spellbinders: Petite Ovals
  • recycled twill ribbon, brown twine from Jillibean Soup
  • layout: CPS222
additional challenges for this card:

And since it is Tuesday and time for What's on Tap Tuesday (hosted by the CraftyFrugalista), here's a peek at my crafty spot after I finished up last night

You can see I actually did two cards - and one of them I realized I didn't do something consistently so I have to redo one little bit. That card will probably get posted later this week.

My table is it's usual mess - the way I like it!

Ta Ta for now.....see you again tomorrow with my project for this week's challenge over at the Pixie Cottage!

What's on Tap Tuesday - June SFYTT!

Hi folks,

well it looks like not doing booty camp during these hot summer months is getting me into the craft room on weeknights!

Here's what my desk looked like after last night's crafty time

I was playing along with the June Sketch For You To Try over at iheart2stamp. You can see my printout of it with my notes about the cards I made with it down front.

Here's the actual sketch...

and here is one of the cards I made (I'm saving the other to go with another post that has to wait until the recipient receives the card and the gift it accompanies).

Even my other half commented that he liked this card!

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches
  • patterned papers: My Mind's Eye "Home" Glitter Stack
  • stamps: Verve "Big Wish"
  • Spellbinders: Petite Circles
additional challenges for this card:
So if you would like to see who else is playing along with What's on Tap Tuesday, be sure to stop by Cindy's blog "The Crafty Frugalista". And join in why don't you? Your post doesn't have to have a pic of your crafty space - just share your blog post from today so we can all see what you have been working on lately.

ta ta for now! Be sure to drop by tomorrow to see my project for this week's challenge from the Pixie Cottage!

Viva La Verve - May Week 4 and WOTT

Hi folks,

Yes, I was busy making cards this weekend so I am back today with another of the cards I made using this sketch from the May Viva La Verve challenges.

Here is the week 4 sketch

and the card I made using it (with one element of the sketch left out as I did not want to detract from the image or clutter up a masculine card with any frou-frou).

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches
  • stamped image: Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps "Shining Light", coloured with Copic Markers (YG91, YG93, YG95, G29, R59, R89, C00, C0, C1, C2, C3)
  • sentiment: Verve Big Wish
  • patterned papers: Graphic 45 "A Proper Gentleman"
  • Spellbinders: Fancy Tags, Petite Ovals
  • metal photo corners from my stash
additional challenges for this card:
And since it is Tuesday, here's a photo of my crafty space. Actually, the shelves ABOVE my crafty space where I store my ribbons and some of my embellies.

In the next few days, I should FINALLY get around to organizing my ribbons in my Ribbon Box that I won a couple of months back from The Original Scrapbox.

As you can see, even though I have containers for my ribbons, once they get taken out, it takes a while for them to get put back where they belong.  I'm hoping the Ribbon Box will cure me of this problem since I won't actually have to take the ribbons out to use them.

Oh, and since I did actually craft on Monday night, here's a peek of what the desk below looked like when I finished for the night.

If you pop back later this week you should see the cards actually finished.

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to see the peeks from other folks playing along with WOTT, be sure to drop by Cindy's blog The Crafty Frugalista to see who else has linked up!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see something I've been keeping under my hat for a little while now!

A Card from the "Crop for the Cure" and WOTT

Hi folks,

well, I finally got around to photographing this card I made in Tanya's card workshop at the Crop for the Cure on May 7th.  I FINALLY got everything packed away on Sunday and I came across the card in my tonne of stuff that I had taken to the crop.

I must say, I like the look of the uncoloured image (from the Pixie Cottage). One of these days, I will get around to trying this with one of my stamps. Of course, I realized AFTER I had taken the photo that I had forgotten to trim the tails of my bow. I'll get around to that soon I'm sure.

Oh, and before I forget, today is "What's on Tap Tuesday (WOTT)" and this week I CAN let you have a peek at my desk since I finally got things back to normal. Actually, it's a little tidier than usual.

This is how my desk looked after crafting this weekend. Down front is the sketch for the cards in my previous post - and of course my ever present big pink ATG. If you would like to play along, just pop over to "The Crafty Frugalista" and link up whatever YOU have on tap this Tuesday - it doesn't have to be a photo of your crafty space, a photo of whatever you are working on or blogging about today is just fine.

Hope you all have a lovely day! Long weekend is coming! Yay! And I SHOULD be off pager duty before the end of the week. Double YAY!

What's on Tap Tuesday #4

Hi folks,

Cindy over at the Crafty Frugalista has started up What's on Tap Tuesday - her nod to WOYWW - for those of us on this side of the pond.

Here's a peek at my desk tonight...

Yes, the usual mess, topped off with these flowers I coloured up on Monday during lunch (it's been raining here so no lunchtime walk outdoors).

Sometime soon you should see card posts featuring these.....

Be sure to visit Cindy if you would like to play along yourself or to see who else is playing along this week!

I'll be back tomorrow with my WOYWW post!

What's on Tap Tuesday

Hi folks,

Cindy, over at The Crafty Frugalista, has started a North American version of sneaking a peek at each other's desks called What's On Tap Tuesday. I thought I would play along this week (and yes I will still be doing my WOYWW post tomorrow as well).

Here's my peek!

Yes, I was actually crafting tonight. I came to the sudden realization today that Mother's day is less than two weeks away and I had not started ANY of my Mother's day cards -- and I usually make more than a few. What you see on my desk is the aftermath of what I managed to get done tonight
  • Mother's day card for my Mom
  • a few more of that same digi tulip image from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps coloured up and ready to be made into a few more cards (probably the Mother's day cards for dearly beloved's Mom and step-mother and either a Mother's day card for a friend or a birthday card for the stash)
  • I have a few more things lying around from making Easter cards - stamps, Spellbinders etc that have not yet been put away.
  • and a stack of paper that I pulled out with the idea to MAYBE use them on the Mother's day cards. We shall see. Depends on the stamps I wind up using.

Anyways, if you pop back later you will see the actual post for the card I made ....

hope you are all having a great day!
