Hi folks,

It seems I'm a bit delinquent about posting my recent cards.

After I made the cards for my Mom and Sister a couple of weeks ago, I made these three cards from the bits and pieces that were lying around on the crafting table.

I find it's nice to have cards at the ready for when I realize that "oops! There's another birthday around the corner!"

The third card actually went into the post today for my niece for her birthday next week.

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches, white card stock base
  • patterned paper: Basic Grey Sweet Threads (from WAY back in 2010!)
  • stamps are from a variety of SOTM sets from CTMH "From Me To You" (S1908), "To My Bestie" (S1905), "Love So Sweet" (S1904), "Card Captions" (S1901)
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Celebrating Again with Yumi & Fumi Handmade!

Hi folks!

Today we are celebrating another design team member birthday over at the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog! Hip! Hip! Hooray!

Big birthday wishes are going out today to Cebelica! Be sure to stop by and wish her a happy birthday! I am sure she will be touched to read your birthday wishes.

I have it on the down low that Cebelica's favourite colours are blue, pink and brown. So, I gave Summer Fumi a pink and blue outfit to pick up on the colours in the Basic Grey Marjolaine papers I chose (yep - if you look closely you can see the pale pink in the argyle print!). Of course, the browns come from the kraft card stock and the ink for the sentiment.

Hope you are having a fantastic birthday, Cebelica, and that you get to celebrate all month long!

March Shoebox Second Card

Hi folks,

so for my second card for our March Shoebox gathering I  used the Week 1 Sketch for the March Viva La Verve Challenge over on SCS.

Here's the sketch

and here are my cards.

For the first I stuck with the sketch - the sentiment panel is centred on the card. This is the one we actually made for the shoebox gathering.

The rest of these cards I just made up to have on hand (or to gift as a set) - I played around with the layout so they would all be different. Making sure to keep the elements the same.

For this one, I decided to line up the centre of the sentiment panel with the split between the two backing papers.

For this one I changed the orientation to landscape and changed the sentiment stamp

back to the portrait orientation, different papers.

Just switched up the colour of the sentiment panel on this one

and went with landscape for this one with the smaller panel on the bottom this time.

and with the sentiment panel in a slightly different position.

Some of these might wind up being gifted as part of card gift set for a friend, we shall see.

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches, kraft cardstock base
  • patterned papers: Basic Grey Marjolaine
  • stamps: Verve
  • die cug: Verve Classy Label Die
  • brads from my stash
