February CTMH Cross Canada Blog Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our February Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Celebrate Today collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, this collection has something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Michelle's blog then you are in the right place!

Today I decided to share the cards I made from LEFTOVERS from my Celebrate Today Cardmaking Kit. The kit itself makes 16 cards (four each of four designs). I had enough papers left over from my kit to make TEN MORE cards! Can you believe it? Here they are!

The first four are actually the result of an oops. I accidentally did my angle cut on the patterned paper in the wrong direction so THESE cards feature the floral side of the paper instead of the plaid.

These next two cards, I played with a technique we use in quilting - colour blocking - but with paper. I quite like the effect. A great way to use up smaller scraps.

These last four cards make use of some of the larger pieces of paper I had left over.

I used a BUNCH of different stamp sets on these cards - some new, some long retired. I *think* this is the full list:

  • S2002 - Cherishing Her (Feb 2020 SOTM)
  • S2001 - Everyday Magic (Jan 2020 SOTM)
  • S1909 - Random Acts of Cardness (Sept 2019 SOTM)
  • C1805 - one of the exclusive stamp sets from the Craft With Heart Cardmaking Subscription (Sept-Dec 2019 box)
  • C1633 - For Family (retired)

That's it for me! Up next is Brandi.

Remember - if you get lost you can always head back to Michelle's blog as she has the full list of participants.

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we are able to inspire you in some way. If so, please leave us a comment as we love to hear back from the hoppers! January CTMH Cross Canada Blog Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our January Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Spruced Up collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, this collection has something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Rosalynd's post then you are in the right place!

The first card I made with this collection was actually a Christmas card for my spouse.

It came together very quickly using the wooden embellishments and one of the stickers from the sticker sheet. I stamped my sentiment onto the sticker et Voila!

Among the two dozen cards I have (so far) made with this collection, these are a few more of my favourites.

I love the Thin Cuts die set that coordinate with this collection. Quite a few of the cards I made with this collection feature the birds, the branches, and the pine cones. I used a mix of stamps from the coordinating stamp sets and a few retired sets as well - and quite a few of the stickers from the sticker sheet.

That's it for me! Up next is Brandi.

October Hawthorn CTMH Cross Canada Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our October Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Hawthorn collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, this collection has something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop - and it turns out that this month I'm actually the start of the hop! Kind of fitting since I am originally from Newfoundland and I just returned yesterday from our easternmost province! If you got here from Kristine's blog then you are in the correct spot!

As usual, I am sharing cards I made with this month's feature collection.

The layout for this first card was scrap-lifted from a scrapbooking layout in the idea book. Do you recognize it? The image and sentiment are from the Hawthorn Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts set. Confession: I didn't use the thin cuts because my craftroom is STILL in transition and I don't know in which bin I packed my Cuttlebug. I WAS able to find my Nutmeg inkpad though!

For this second card, I fuzzy cut the hexi paper. I'm a quilter and a BIG fan of English Paper Piecing (which traditionally uses the hexi shape) so I HAD to use this paper. The stamps are from the "Giving Thanks" stamp set from the recent "Share the Seasons" Bundle (psst. I have extras of the stamp sets if anyone is looking because they missed out!). This card will be for spouse for Thanksgiving.

That's it for me! Up next is Brae

No stamping on this card! The sentiment is actually from the cut apart page in the paper pack! I cut the heart shape with one of my Thin Cuts Basic Hearts dies.

That's it for me! Up next is Brandi!

May Cross Canada Blog Hop with CTMH

Hi folks!

Welcome to our May Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Sweet Girl collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, both of these collections have something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Colleen's then you are in the right place!

I have a few cards to share with you today and not one of them is baby themed.

Up first - this birthday card. The cute bunny from the Sweet Girl Complements was perfect for the friend who received this card.

Next? A graduation card for my niece. She's winding up her college program and I thought this was a cute card to celebrate the occasion.  For this one I used cute Hedgehog from the cut-apart sheet in the Sweet Girl Paper Pack.

And finally? All FIVE of this year's Mother's Day cards.

That's it for me! Up next is Brandi!

March Cross Canada Blog Hop with CTMH

Hi folks!

Welcome to our March Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the So Much Happy collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, both of these collections have something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Dominique's blog then you are in the right place!

Today I'm sharing with you a few cards I made with the paper pack - which I totally wanted to call "Sew Much Happy". Get it?

Yes - I'm a quilter. So of course I had to have the Quilt Quotes stamp set, the Stitched Quilt Shapes Thin Cuts, AND the Stitched Square Frames Thin Cuts the second I saw them. Click "add to order"!!!

You can bet that these cards are going to wind up in the hands of my quilting buddies. I may even make them little gift sets they can hand out to other friends.

That's it for me! Up next is Diana!

February Cross Canada Blog Hop with CTMH

Hi folks!

Welcome to our February Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the I Heart Us collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, both of these collections have something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Nicky's blog then you are in the right place!

If you are a frequent visitor then you know I tend to favour card-making so I have these cards to share with you today.

The inspiration for these cards actually came from a scrapbook layout in the new Seasonal Expressions Idea book. Go ahead, take a flip through and see if you can find which one! Psst - take a look at the WYW I Heart Us layouts.

I also used the Butterfly Friendship stamp and thin cuts bundle on this pair of cards.

Now - do you remember earlier when I said I tend to favour card-making? Well, I took the big step and signed up for the Craft With Heart12-month subscription back when it launched. My goal was to hopefully wind up with some layouts I could use in a scrapbook album for my parents upcoming milestone wedding anniversary. So here's the TWO double-page layouts for February featuring the "I Heart Us" Cut Above Kit!

Care to make a guess how long it took me to put these together? Just 45 minutes!!! For all four pages! Me! Who doesn't scrapbook!

Now - I'm still getting used to the whole scrapbooking thing so I just followed the kit instructions to  the letter. Maybe I'll branch out and start mixing things up as I do more of the kits. Or maybe I'll add to the pages as my parents anniversary approaches. We shall see. Either way, I think this subscription (which you can do a month at a time, four months at a time, or for a full year) is a great way to put together some great scrapbook layouts quickly!

So - that's it for me! Up next is Diana!

October Cross Canada Blog Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our October Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Hello Pumpkin and Grateful Heart collections from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, both of these collections have something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Michelle's  then you are in the right place!

I'm featuring a birthday card using the Hello Pumpkin collection. If you are familiar with the kits in the new idea book, you will see that I took inspiration for this card from the "Epic Birthday" card kit. I quite liked the way the sentiment panel was created on one of the cards in the kit so I somewhat replicated it on my card.

That's it for me! Up next is Diana.

August Cross Canada Blog Hop

Hi Folks!

Welcome to our August Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the "Documented" collection from Close To My Heart.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Michelle's  then you are in the right place!

This month we are featuring the featuring the "Documented" collection. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, this collection has something for you.

Since I am a card-maker, I'm sharing a few recent cards I have made with this collection.

For this first card, I took my inspiration from the suggested cards from the "Sweet Friends" card making kit.

This second card uses the same stamp set but has a more masculine feel (I think).

The next two cards were inspired by one of the bonus cards from the Documented Scrapbooking Workshop Your Way. I just changed up the papers resulting in one feminine card and one more masculine.

That's it for me! Up next is Diana!
