Long Time, No Tilda

Hi folks,

back today with the last of my Easter/Spring cards. This one was for my youngest niece. I know - bad Auntie - it SHOULD be arriving tomorrow - way after Easter. That's why I'm calling these my Spring cards. Not Easter cards.

It's been a long time since I coloured up one of my Tilda images so I figured I would use this one as it kind of looks like my niece.

card details:

  • finished size: 5 x 5 inches, white card stock base. CTMH (can't remember if it is Blush or Baby Pink) card stock mat
  • patterned paper: My Mind's Eye "Dolled Up"
  • stamped image: Tilda with newly hatched chick from the 2010 Magnolia Hoppy Easter collection, coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, E31, E33, E35, E37, E27, Y06, Y08, YR04, RV00, RV11,  RV13, RV23, BG32, BG34,  BG0000, BG000)

A Tilda Just Because

Hi folks,

well, I found my way back into the craft room this morning and finished off this card I had started at the crop last Saturday.

I had planned to give this to a friend for her birthday (with a different sentiment) but changed my mind when I saw the text on the newspaper held by Tilda. It's the "Love News" so I'll be keeping this one to give to my sweetie sometime "just because".

card details:

  • finished size: 6x6 inches
  • image: Love News Tilda from Magnolia Stamps (which I do believe I may have won from Tickled Pink Stamps some time ago but am just now getting around to inking up for the first time!), coloured with Copic Markers (skin: E000, E00, E01, E93; hair: E50, E55, E53, E42; pants: BG13, BG11, BG10; shirt: R22, R21, R20; Bows: R22; shoes: E39, E37, E35, E34, E33, E31; Newspaper: E70, E40, R24, E71)
  • sentiment: CTMH "Say It In Style"
  • patterned papers: Basic Grey Hopscotch, edges distressed with CTMH Juniper Ink
  • cardstock: CTMH Juniper
  • Layout: The Sugar Bowl Sketch #59. I didn't use a Sugar Nellie image on the card so this one isn't eligible for the prize draw but I liked the sketch.

Hope you are all having a lovely day!

Magnolia Mania is looking for a Canadian DT member

Hi folks, just passing along this little tidbit to my faithful readers (few though you may be).

I saw a post on Eulanda Silvey's blog this morning that Magnolia Mania (a weekly German Magnolia Challenge Blog) is looking for a Canadian DT member. The details are on Eulanda's post here......

Best of luck to anyone who expresses interest.....I think I will ask Eulanda for me details about the position myself.....how long/do you have to keep current with the "new" Magnolia images/do you have to create the "European style" Magnolia cards.....

WOYWW - April 6th

Hi folks,

so once again I am playing along with WOYWW, hosted by Julia over at the Stamping Ground

This is my desk as I finished up crafting last night....

Yes, I create in this mess. What's there to see?
  • an Easter Tilda card
  • the sketch I was using for the layout with my scribblings listing the Copics I used to colour the image and the rest of the supplies.
  • my list of Easter cards I need to make/have made. Happy to say MOST of them are done. I have less than ten to go now.
  • there's a plastic shoe box on the right with some of my completed Easter cards.
  • there's also a few scattered stamps I've been using on the cards as well.
So would you like to see the finished card?

Thanks for stopping by -- now you should go back to Julia's blog to check out everyone else who is playing along this week.

    • finished size: 5.5 x 5.5 inches
    • stamped image: Bunny Rabbit Tilda from Magnolia Stamps  (2010 Hoppy Easter collection maybe?), coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E93, E34, E57, E47, W1, W3, W5, RV34, R37)
    • stamped sentiment: CTMH Seasonal Celebrations D1112

      When the mailman doesn't deliver...

the goodies for which I have been anxiously awaiting, retail therapy is required and off I went this evening to
      • Heather's Stamping Haven for my Magnolia fix - 2 Tilda's, an Edwin and a bench. Plus some seashells and a cheeky sentiment for the back of my cards. Heather's annual fund-raising event for Victim's of Violence starts August 15th through the end of the month. Check out her site or blog for details, the make and take schedule and details on the sale and a chance to win some goodies.
      • Michael's for a new Martha Stewart Punch - Autumn Branch. Love it....it's not JUST a branch you know! Think sea creatures!!!
      • Dollarama - for a HUGE stack of foam squares. I won't be running out for a VERY long time.
      • Home Depot - for more driveway sealant. Dearly beloved and our neighbour FORGOT that last year they sent me to get a 5th container of the stuff when they did the driveways so when dearly beloved went to do our driveway today with just TWO .... he ran out with the car parked in the garage. SO....had to wait until it was dry to go get some more! ooooh.....men!
      Ahhhh.....that felt SOOO good!

I have made a bunch of cards the last few days but have not yet had a chance to edit the photos for posting. Maybe I'll get to do that tomorrow morning.

I have to say a big thanks to Danielle - she gave me a blog award on her blog! She is so sweet! I will have to reciprocate to some of the blogs to which I subscribe! Again, maybe tomorrow morning!

Oh, and before I forget, EK Success are awesome! My Diamond Scallop Border Punch has been acting up lately...not quite punching in the middle anymore. I haven't used it THAT much - twenty Christmas cards....a few others. Not abusing it cutting nasty things. It IS the first one (among several) I bought when their new border punches came out. So I sent them an enquiry via their website asking if there was any maintenance they would recommend to get it back into tip top punching status or if they had a replacement warranty. Well the next day, I received a reply requesting the item number of the punch and my shipping address as they were going to send me a replacement! Thus, they are AWESOME!

Ta Ta for now.....tomorrow should bring a post with another set of cards I gave away this week.

      Tilda and Edwin Skating

The Little Stamp Shoppe is a new online store here and the great thing for us Canadians is - they carry Magnolia Stamps!!!! YAY!!!!! They have launched a new challenge blog and this card is for the July Sketch Challenge. Yes, I know, cutting it close aren't I?

The very sad thing is that I have had Edwin and Tilda coloured since a couple of days after I got the stamp - BEFORE I got my PrismaColor Pencils. I must have coloured up 8 or 10 of these with my CTMH markers. See how nicely the colours match the Evensong Papers from CTMH that I used on the card! uh huh! No coinkydink there folks. Anyhow, it would be a shame to let these coloured images go to waste so I will probably use them up with the Evensong paper making a few more of these cards with exactly this layout. Mind you - I may have to get more Evensong paper to do it! We shall see.

      The Details:

      finished size: 6x6 inches
card base: 6x12 Colonial White CTMH
Designer Papers: Evensong PaperPack CTMH and New England Ivy Cardstock CTMH
Stamps: Magnolia Stamps Edwin and Tilda Skating, CTMH D1307 Annotations
Ink: I honestly forget which markers I used but the sentiment is stamped with New England Ivy and Cranberry.
Embellishments: Buttons and Flowers from my stash

      Dreamy Tilda

So, I have a bunch of images from my new Magnolia stamps coloured up and waiting to be used on some cards. The opportunity presented itself this week with a couple of challenges. Over at Stampin Out Alzheimer's there is a challenge to use the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week. There is also a challenge to create a card using any winged thing.

This Dreamy Tilda fit the bill. See her glittery wings? Isn't she cute? I have five more of her all coloured and ready to go. Her outfit on each one is a different colour.
