I aim to misbehave

So if you are a "Brown Coat" you know from whence comes the inspiration for this card. In fact, I specifically bought this stamp some months ago with the sole purpose of doing a "Firefly" inspired card. How timely that this week's March Madness challenge over at The Greeting Farm was to make a mono-chromatic card?

I'm pretty sure my sweetie will like it (and get the source of inspiration) when I give the card to him.

oooh...I just came up with another idea (that adds to the other idea I will actually put into play once my Sheriff Ian stamp arrives).

Anyways, I used the March 2012 SFYTT layout (seen below) for the card, modified slightly to fit a 6x6 card.

Sketch n Stash 78

Hi folks,

today I'm sharing a birthday card I made for a daughter of some dear friends of ours.

I wanted to use Tink for her card as she is one of the few little girl stamps I have with short hair (birthday girl has shorter hair). I also gave her a darker complexion and dark hair as the birthday girl has both thanks to her Mom and Dad.

• patterned papers: Pixielicious from Cosmo Cricket. This paper pad always seems to get pulled out of my stash whenever I use the TGF Fairies. I wonder why?

A Trio of Bookmarks

Hi folks!

Well, I'm very sad to say that my short week-long respite from work has come to an end. Tomorrow, it's back to the office for me.

I did squeeze in a little crafty time late this afternoon while my other half was napping to make these corner bookmarks that my brother's girlfriend requested after seeing the one I made for her daughter (my niece).

I simply followed the tutorial on SCS, made a few minor adjustments and there you go. Kept these fairly simple as I think too many layers would make these hard to stay put in your books.

The patterned papers I used are Cosmo Cricket "Pixie-Licious", the border punches are two from Martha Stewart and one from EK Success.

Something Special - TGF Fairy Chloe

ahhh....it feels good to get crafty again. Dearly beloved wanted to go out and about yesterday on his new toy - and I figured he should have a day of motoring about on his own. Free to go wherever he wanted, without me getting a tired bum sitting on the back of his bike.

So, I stayed at home, happy to fill in the rest of my Copic chart (I'm only missing one now!) and also happy get this card made for his niece for her birthday this weekend.

Oh so I have to share this funny little story: When dearly beloved got back from his motorcycle ride, I told him that the rest of my Copics arrived. He smiled, laughed and asked "So, which is worth more - your markers or my new motorcycle?" I had to think about it but his bike was more expensive. Now...MY motorcycle vs the copics. It's a coin toss. I think the markers MAY have cost me more. Expensive hobby, no?

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #74

I followed the sketch AND I used the theme as my inspiration for the choice of papers on my card - yellow patterned paper with pinwheels that remind me of lemon slices! Refreshing!

If I do say so myself, this image is "udderly adorable" (okay, that IS the name of the image) but...how can you resist? I think this would make a gorgeous baby boy card. I think I need to pick up the girl version of this stamp as well.

Bad Hare Day?

Today I got together with my crafty-pal, Tanya, for a little stamping play-date. I am NOTORIOUSLY slow at colouring images so I only managed to finish up two of the images I stamped during our crafty time. I finished up one of the cards tonight and thought I would share it right away.

Dark Chocolate or White Chocolate?

Hi folks (second post for today - feel free to scroll down for the previous post),

I got crafty this afternoon and coloured up a few images to use on my Easter cards. One of the images I coloured up was the digi image Easter Egg Cocoa from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I actually down-loaded four new (to me) Cocoa Mouse digis so you will be seeing them pop up on the blogarooni over the next little while.

I could not decide if Cocoa should be popping out of a dark chocolate Easter Egg or a white chocolate Easter Egg, so I did both! Personally, I don't like white chocolate. I like a nice dark chocolate, about 85% or so is my fave. Dearly beloved actually likes 99% chocolate - blech. It's like eating a spoonful of cocoa.

Here's the first - with a white chocolate egg, using somewhat more traditional Easter colours for the patterned papers.

And here's the second, with a dark chocolate egg, with more boyish colours for the card.

I figure the white egg card will go to one of our nieces and the dark chocolate egg can go to one of our nephews or to grown-ups.
