May Cross Canada Blog Hop with CTMH

Hi folks!

Welcome to our May Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Sweet Girl collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, both of these collections have something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Colleen's then you are in the right place!

I have a few cards to share with you today and not one of them is baby themed.

Up first - this birthday card. The cute bunny from the Sweet Girl Complements was perfect for the friend who received this card.

Next? A graduation card for my niece. She's winding up her college program and I thought this was a cute card to celebrate the occasion.  For this one I used cute Hedgehog from the cut-apart sheet in the Sweet Girl Paper Pack.

And finally? All FIVE of this year's Mother's Day cards.

That's it for me! Up next is Brandi!

Remember - if you get lost you can always head back to Michelle's blog as she has the full list of participants.

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we are able to inspire you in some way. If so, please leave us a comment as we love to hear back from the hoppers! We hope you are able to join us again next month. So be sure to mark June 10th on your calendar. And don't forget, you can reach out to your local consultant to purchase any of the items you see on the hop today!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday 407

Hi folks,

Just stopping in to share a graduation card and tin I made for the daughter of a dear friend of mine. She's a remarkable young woman and I am sure that she will succeed in whatever she decides to pursue in life.

Mojo 343 - for a Graduation

Hi folks!

My eldest niece recently graduated from the program she has been doing for the past couple of years at her local college. She is now doing her final work term (she did a Child and Youth Care Worker program) for the next few weeks.

I made this card for her to celebrate her graduation with one of the new stamps I recently ordered from Unity Stamp Company.

card details:
  • finished size: 5.5 x 5.5 inches, black card stock base
  • patterned papers: Kaisercraft "Velvet Crush", distressed edges
  • stamp: Unity Stamp Company "Things To Do: Dream, Wish, Etc" stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black with purple accents from Copic V06
  • embellishments: brads, buttons, purple ribbon, black ribbon, embroidery floss from my stash
  • layout: Mojo Monday 343. I changed it to a square card instead of a tall and skinny.

Bellarific Graduation Card

Hi folks,

This week's Bellarific challenge over at the Stamping Bella Blog is a sketch (seen below)

Perfect timing as I wanted to use my Jane Girl stamp to make a high school graduation card for my eldest niece. Here's the card that I came up with:

I hope the little flaw in the image isn't too noticeable? There's a little bit of an indent on her head on the stamp and it leaves a little void in the image. I tried sponging a bit of the ink over the void and I think it came out mostly okay. But it is tricky.

I thought the sentiment was perfect for a graduation card. Lots of hope for the future.

card details:

  • finished size: 6x6 inches, CTMH Cocoa card stock base
  • patterned papers: CTMH Perfect Day
  • image: Jane Girl from Stamping Bella, stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa on CTMH Colonial White card stock
  • Spellbinders Eyelet Pendant accessory pieces for the corners, with micro half-back pearls for accents.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a fabulous week!

Graduation Times Two

My dear friend Dorothy has two twelve year old daughters who will have a graduation ceremony on Tuesday. I decided to make them cards to match their dresses that they chose for the day. I also was inspired by the card class yesterday to use the same pop-up style for their cards.

This purple card is for Grace. She is an amazing writer with an imagination and talent beyond her years.

With that in mind, I chose the sentiment "Soar High" from The Greeting Farm Wild Things set to go with Graduation Anya. I think if she lets her talents take wing, she will have a bright future ahead.

Marie has a teal dress so this is her card. Marie has a sparkling personality and she loves to please everyone around her.

With that in mind, I chose the "Lead" sentiment, again from The Greeting Farm Wild Things set. I guess I think that Marie needs to focus more on being the leader rather than the follower who tries to make everyone else happy. She has a great future ahead of her if she follows HER dreams and not those of her peers.

Our message to each of the girls is written on the back of the card.

Happy Graduation Day girls!
