Sister Act Card Challenge #63 with Bugaboo Stamps

Hi folks!

It's Friday so that means it is time for me to share my final creation for the weekly "Anything Goes" card challenge over at the Sister Act Card Challenge! Life is getting crazy busy for me these days and I figured it was time to wind up my design team term. It's been a fantastic experience and a wonderful opportunity to work with digital images from so many fabulous sponsors week in and week out. A special thank you to Trish and Jenn for the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the team.

As you probably know by now, the rules for joining in the weekly challenge are pretty simple - anything goes as long as it is a new card of your own creation! Just join in the fun by linking up to your blog post featuring your lovely creation and you will be in the running for the prize offered by this week's sponsor - Bugaboo Stamps!

psst. Every Friday, Bugaboo offers a freebie image that is available all weekend. Just add it to your cart, check out and it's there for you to download!

I didn't get a chance to create a card with a Bugaboo image this week, but I DID play with some new supplies I STILL had on my desk from making this card for the challenge THREE weeks ago!

A co-worker is retiring later this summer and he is an avid fisherman so I thought this card would make for a fantastic send-off - particularly since I picked up a beautiful fly-fishing print for him as a retirement present.

Sister Act Card Challenge #59 with All Dressed Up Stamps

Hi folks!

It's Friday so that means it is time for me to share my latest creation for our weekly "Anything Goes" card challenge over at the Sister Act Card Challenge!

As you probably know by now, the rules for joining in our weekly challenge are pretty simple - anything goes as long as it is a new card of your own creation! Be sure to also check out the All Dressed Up Stamps Challenge blog for some freebie images if you would like to try them before you buy them!

As it so happens, I used one of those freebies on today's card. I couldn't help myself. Now, everyone who knows me knows I'm a crazy cat lady. But seriously, who could resist this cute little puppy? Ermagerd. He's SO adorable! Especially with that big patch around his eye and his big floppy bow. I can just imagine his cute little tale wagging.

I think this would be a perfect card to welcome a new baby boy into the world. As it happens, friends of ours are expecting a baby boy in June. We've already had the baby shower but I'm sure I could pick up a little something else once baby arrives so I can have a reason to give this card to the new parents.

Hi folks!

Just join in the fun by linking up to your blog post featuring your lovely creation and you will be in the running for the prize offered by this week's sponsor - Deasy Designs! I can't wait to check our your fabulous creations!

The design team was given the opportunity to work with images from the Space Adventure set. Needless to say, I had a "blast"!

I actually coloured two each of the rocket and the planet and they are layered and popped up with foam tape.

card details:
  • finished size: 5.5 x 5.5 inches, red card stock base, orange card stock mats
  • patterned papers: My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist "Fly a Kite"
  • images and sentiment: Deasy Designs "Space Adventure", coloured with Copic Markers (W00, W0, W1, W2, YR00, YR02, YR04, YR15, YR16, YR18, BG10, BG11, BG13, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19), background sponged with CTMH Heavenly Blue
challenges for this card:
  • Shopping our Stash #151: Sing it to Me. Let's see would my inspiration be "Rocket Man" by Elton John (I saw him in concert recently) or "Major Tom" by David Bowie (so sad that everyone's favourite Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield's version had to be taken down this week as the one year agreement on the video post had ended).
  • Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes Birthday (I didn't do the May flowers topping option)

Sister Act Card Challenge #51

Hi folks!

It's Friday so that means it is time for me to share my latest creation for our weekly "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Sister Act Card Challenge!

As you probably know by now, the rules for joining in our weekly challenge are pretty simple - anything goes as long as it is a new card of your own creation! Just join in the fun by linking up to your blog post featuring your lovely creation and you will be in the running for the prize offered by this week's sponsor - Stitchy Bear Stamps ! I can't wait to check our your fabulous creations!

The DT were given a lovely opportunity to work with images from Stitchy Bear and I decided to use this adorable Boo Boo Bear to make a get well card.

What do you think of the bear's fur? I used a technique I learned from my friend Tanya at a class she taught some time ago. I coloured the fur with a combo of brown Copics and then put some Colorless blender onto a terry facecloth and then dabbed it onto the image to give that teddy bear texture. I think it came out quite well.

card details:

  • finished size: 5x5 inches, white cardp stock base, CTMH Lagoon mats
  • patterned paper: Amy Tangerine "Yes, Please"
  • digital image: Stitch Bear Stamps "Boo Boo Bear", coloured with Copic Markers (E21, E23, E25, E27, E93, Y11, Y13, Y15, R81, R83, R85, BG10, BG11, Colorless Blender)
  • sentiment: Verve "Doodled Occasions" (I noticed that I seem to have misplaced one of my FAVOURITE Happy Birthday sentiments in that set. Sigh. I HOPE it is stuck to something in my craft room and hasn't accidentally gone the way of the trash bin. I guess I have a really good reason to tidy up in my craft room now. BIG SIGH!)
  • layout: Mojo Monday 339 (I adapted it from the skinny profile to a square card)
  • Spellbinders Petite Ovals

Sister Act Card Challenge #43 - with Paper Nest Dolls

Hi folks!

It's Friday so that means it is time for me to share my latest creation for our weekly "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Sister Act Card Challenge!

I can't wait to check our your fabulous creations!

For my creation this week, I'm using Cheerleader Ellie from Paper Nest Dolls.

I don't know about you but where I am (Ottawa, Canada) it's the middle of what seems like a VERY long, cold winter and I really needed to make a bright and cheerful card to chase away the winter greys. I'm planning on giving this card to one of the members of my T.O.P.S. weight loss support group as a message of encouragement. I reached my own goal more than a year ago so I know how difficult a struggle it can be to get to your goal and to maintain it.

card details:

  • finished size: 5x5 inches, white card stock base, bright pink card stock mats
  • patterned papers: Echo Park "Summer Days"
  • digital image: Paper Nest Dolls Cheerleader Ellie, coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, E21, E23, E25, E27, RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, C6) and a little sparkle was added to her pom poms with my Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
  • sentiment: Verve "Borderline", stamped in CTMH Bubblegum
