Sunshine Cards for T.O.P.S.

Hi folks,

I've been asked to make a few cards for my T.O.P.S. group to send to friends, former and current members. The person in charge of sending out those greetings brought me a couple of mat stacks she had bought and two packages of card blanks so I could use them to make a few cards.

These are the first two cards I've made - for when the chapter would like to say Thanks.

I kept them pretty simple since they will most likely be mailed so I figured I shouldn't go overboard with thick embellishments. I must say though, I found it hard to make such big cards when I am used to making my standard 4.25 x 5.5 cards.

card details:

  • finished size: 5 x 7, ivory card blanks
  • patterned paper: DCWV Spring mat stack
  • stamps: CTMH D1306 Treasure Life, Verve "Thanks so much", stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa
  • ivory satin ribbon from my stash
  • EK Success Scalloped Scallops border punch

As always, thanks for stopping by!

A new baby

Hi folks,

It's Friday and, normally, I would be sharing my creation for the Sister Act Card Challenge today. We're still on our Christmas break (until NEXT Friday, January 10th) so I don't have anything to officially share. But I figured I WOULD do a little reminder post that you can still link up until then to our current "Anything Goes" card challenge (#38).

We recently welcomed a new baby to my dearly beloved's family - another niece! The girls definitely outnumber the boys in our extended families - between us dearly beloved and I have three nephews and NINE nieces.

This is the card I made to go with the gift to welcome baby Peyton to the family - very C.A.S. as I was kind of pressed for time when I made it.

card details:

  • finished size: 5x5 inches, white card stock base, CTMH Blush for the circular mat
  • patterned papers: DCWV Nana's Nursery "Baby Girl". I bought that 12x12 stack of paper what seems like year ago but it always comes in handy for baby girl cards!
  • stamped image and sentiment: Verve "Treasured Words"

Viva La Verve - June Week 4

Hi folks,

Well, after the influx of masculine cards on the blog this month, how about a little cute and cuddly break with this card I made for a baby shower. I don't get to make baby cards much these days since most of our friends and family have completed their families. But every now and then, someone gives us a pleasant little surprise to celebrate.

card details:
  • finished size: 5 x 5, white card blank (from Michael's)
  •  patterned paper: DCWV Nanna's Nursery Baby Girl
  • stamps: Verve "Practically Perfect", "Treasured Words"
  • Spellbinders: Petite Ovals
  • ribbon from my stash
  • layout: Viva La Verve June Week 4 (I was a real dolt with the Verve Challenges for June. I THOUGHT there was going to be five challenges but there were only four. So, I THOUGHT I had another week to get all my cards loaded up to SCS. Imagine my surprise when I saw yesterday that the first challenge for July had been posted. Doh! That's what happens when you get to be too busy I suppose. Sad since I actually had all the cards done as of last weekend!)
