Hi folks,

well the image on this card is going to look a bit familiar. I had coloured up three of them and dearly beloved liked the card I did for my Dad for Father's Day so much that I wound up making the card for his Dad with the same image.

Shining Light - Happy Father's Day

Hi folks,

back today with another of this year's Father's Day cards. The first one was for my brother, this one is for my Dad.

I finally tried something I've been meaning to try since seeing Tanya do this technique so skillfully - colouring with my PrismaColor pencils on kraft paper. This was the PERFECT image for this technique.  The white of the lighthouse shows up so nicely on this paper. I even added some "fog" with my cloud blue pencil.

I know a lot of you out there struggle with masculine cards. Me? No problemo. I actually find them easier than girlie girl cards. My secret - great masculine papers and classic images or just a simple sentiment. It helps that most of the "masculine" colours are more my style.

Happy Birthday to my niece

One of my nieces has a birthday on July 18th - she will be 10 years old. This is her card, using Mismatch Ketto.



I used the Sweet Stop Sketch Saturday Sketch SSS12 .

Mismatch Ketto's outfit was paper-pieced and her crown was given a few jewels to bling it up. Her hair was coloured with prismacolor pencils and her face was distress ink. For the sentiment I rock and rolled with two different colours (picked up from the papers). I also managed to dig out my sewing machine to do a little stitching on this one.

Happy Birthday from Rupert

So after taking it exceptionally easy yesterday -- I think I was feeling a little under the weather due to a mild allergic reaction and had a TWO HOUR NAP in the middle of the afternoon, I got myself organized in terms of things I needed to do and this little card is the first of those tasks.



Isn't Rupert (from the Doodlefactory Line by StarvingArtistamps) cute? Those of you familiar with Rupert know that he is actually carrying a flower on the stamp but I switched that out for a nummy cupcake to make this into a birthday card for a friend of ours. Rupert is coloured with Prismacolor Pencils blended with Taltine. Dimensionals have been used to pop him up. The image panels were cut with a mix of small and large circle nestabilities.

This card actually works for a couple of card challenges this week. I am using this sketch from the Secret Craft Saturday Challenge. I decided that with the patterned paper I used for the background that I should keep the rectangular panel plain - I simply embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder that mimics the paper.

And since this is a BIRTHDAY card, it is also great for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge this week to make something for a birthday!

Miss Anya sends you warm wishes

This is the last of the end of school year cards for my nieces and nephew.


I know ... orange and blue? I don't know something just called out to me with these two papers. Maybe it was the sketch that was influencing me. For this card I chose to use the CPS123 sketch.

Miss Anya was coloured using Prismacolor pencils and then mounted onto a dark blue background. I'm realizing as I look at the photo that I FORGOT to remove the white bits between her arm and her body. Oh well. Too late. Card went in the post today. I also framed out the image using some of the orange ribbon I used to separate the orange and blue papers.

Anya Rocks!

And so does my niece. This is the card I made for one of my nieces for the end of the school year.
I used the Mojo Monday 94 sketch for this card - but flipped it to make a side fold card.



I wanted Anya to have some fun hair so her light brown hair has some rocker highlights in pink and purple. And can you see how her guitar sparkles? My gel pens don't get nearly as much love as they should but I pulled out silver and black for the guitar and dark purple for Anya's headband!

The background panel is a blingy bazzill cardstock that was cuttlebugged. I also realized that in previous posts I may have misnamed the ink I have been using on faces lately - it is Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tattered Rose. I actually read the label last night. YES - IMAGOOBER. Must find the incorrect posts and correct them when I have a chance.

Way to Go!

This card is for my nephew who did amazingly well on his end of year report card. I had a tough time deciding between skater Ian and dress me Ian but dress me Ian finally won out. Although I really wish there was an Ian with glasses. I really don't remember seeing one and my nephew wears glasses. Since I don't trust my own ability to add glasses to this little guy, he will have to stay as is (hint hint Marie! Ian needs glasses in his accessories!)



I actually used the sketch posted for this week's Farm Fresh Friday .

Ian was coloured with the following Prismacolor Pencils which were blended with Taltine - 906, 904, 916, 914 and 942. His face was coloured with Ranger Distress Inks Tattered Rose.

The papers are all from the CTMH Stardust Level 2 Paper Pack. Measurements as follows:

Pre-School Graduation

My sister's youngest daughter graduated from pre-school a little while ago and I am just now getting around to making her card. I know, bad Auntie. But, I was waiting until I got word on how all of the kids did at the end of the school year before sending out cards to each of them.



I used the sketch from this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog .

I know what you are thinking - purple and YELLOW? But honestly, the inspiration came from the butterfly paper that is mostly hidden on this card. There are little white flowers with yellow centres scattered about the paper. If you look really close you can see one peeking out from under the purple ribbon!

I embossed the solid purple triangle with a Cuttlebug folder that I though was appropriate for a graduation card - although I must admit I usually use this one on birthday cards. Duh? Why did I never think of that before?

Little Graduation Anya's gown and hat are coloured with Prismacolor Pencils (blended with Taltine) while her face is coloured with Ranger Distress Ink (Tattered Rose).
