Hi folks,
Just thought I would pop in and share another baby quilt I finished yesterday. I actually quilted, bound, and signed it all in one day. Unheard of for me. But it IS a baby quilt - so it's small.
The kit was titled "Straight As An Arrow" and I purchased it from a vendor at Quilt Canada in Toronto this spring. There were a couple of mishaps along the way.
Mishap number one was a cutting oops thanks to poorly written kit instructions. I was able to source the fabric I messed up from another another vendor and completed it just fine.
Mishap number two was a marking oops. I marked my Argyle quilting pattern with a Chaco blue chalk pen style liner. Big mistake. They didn't come out in the first wash, or the second, or.....you get the idea. I think it was the eighth washing when I finally decided that the blue lines were mostly now invisible on the white rows. I actually lost track of how many launderings this quilt endured - and how many different cleaning products (even lemon juice!). Anyways, the end result is that the the orange arrow fabric actually faded a bit from the original colour.
Anyways, it's done and has been left with my neighbour (along with two other quilts) for her daughter to choose from as a gift for her baby due this week.
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Growing in Unity - Day 1
Hi folks,
This year I once again have the privilege of being a "Growing in Unity" gal for a week. All this week, I'll be sharing my creations with stamps from Unity Stamp Co.
I have quite a varied collection of Unity stamps so I had a very difficult time choosing what I would feature this week - I love them all! So, I hope you are ready for some eclectic posts over the next five days.
For my first day I decided to share - a couple of BABY cards with you. 2017 seems to be the year of the newborn amongst our family, friends, and neighbours. So far, there have been four newborns and there is another one about to arrive!
If you need a quick baby card (or two), I love the set "Hello Little One". The solid, graphic, cute wee critters come together in a baby card in a jiffy.
And here's the two baby cards I made:
Very simple, little cards. One of these will look great paired with the baby quilt that is about to be gifted. The colours coordinate with the quilt fabric which was selected to coordinate with baby's nursery.
Now don't forget - be sure to leave a comment on this post if you would like to be entered into a draw to win a grab bag of 25 random stamps from Unity at the end of the week! I have moderation enabled on the blog comments so don't be alarmed if you don't see your comment right away - it will be visible once I approve it!

To Welcome a New Baby
Hi folks,
Well today I get to share both a card AND a quilt that were just gifted this weekend to welcome a new baby.
This quilt - for those of you in the know about quilts this is the tried and true "Yellow Brick Road" from quilt pattern from Atkinson Designs done in a baby size. The fabrics are from the Wilmington Prints collection "Sweet Dreams Little One". I actually bought enough of this fabric to make three of these quilts so....I'll be making a couple more of these.
Of course, I had to make a card to go with ....

Hello Baby!
Hi folks,
Just thought I would share with you, over the next few days, the cards that I am considering as cards to offer in a card-making workshop for a few friends of mine.
Up first are the two cards from the CTMH Hello Baby Card Making Workshop your Way featuring the Hello Lovely collection.
This first card is a Congrats on your baby card but I think it can easily be reworked into a Get Well card with a sentiment switch out or even a birthday card or sympathy card with a switch out of the images on the main panel.
This second card would make for a good all-occasion card, just to say hi. I can see switching out the large sentiment for a big happy birthday as well.
I love the soft colour palette with these papers.

Baby Balloon Animals
Hi folks,
Just popping in to share a recent card creation featuring the CTMH February Stamp of the Month "Balloon Animals" (S1602)
When I saw this stamp set, something about it just said that it would be perfect for a baby card. So, I made this one, reminiscent of a fun baby quilt using the Kaleidoscope paper collection from CTMH.

Hello Baby - Mojo 430
Hi folks,
Just popping in to share one of the cards I made at the Crop for Haiti here in Ottawa yesterday. It was a wonderful event held to raise funds to help build an art room in a school being built in Haiti. If there is one being organized in your community, I would encourage you to attend! Or even check out how you can get one organized in your own community!
I made a couple of baby quilts to be gifted soon to so I figured I should make cards to go with those quilts. Here is one of those cards.

Hello Baby!
Hi folks,
We finally got to meet our newest niece! Yay! She's two months old now and boy is she a cutie.
This is the little card I made to go with a little welcome to the family present we picked up for her.
Rather than colour the onesies on the front of the card, I decided to do a bit of paper-piecing. I think it worked out great!

A new baby
Hi folks,
It's Friday and, normally, I would be sharing my creation for the Sister Act Card Challenge today. We're still on our Christmas break (until NEXT Friday, January 10th) so I don't have anything to officially share. But I figured I WOULD do a little reminder post that you can still link up until then to our current "Anything Goes" card challenge (#38).
We recently welcomed a new baby to my dearly beloved's family - another niece! The girls definitely outnumber the boys in our extended families - between us dearly beloved and I have three nephews and NINE nieces.
This is the card I made to go with the gift to welcome baby Peyton to the family - very C.A.S. as I was kind of pressed for time when I made it.

Viva La Verve - June Week 4
Hi folks,
Well, after the influx of masculine cards on the blog this month, how about a little cute and cuddly break with this card I made for a baby shower. I don't get to make baby cards much these days since most of our friends and family have completed their families. But every now and then, someone gives us a pleasant little surprise to celebrate.

- patterned paper: DCWV Nanna's Nursery Baby Girl
- stamps: Verve "Practically Perfect", "Treasured Words"
- Spellbinders: Petite Ovals
- ribbon from my stash
- layout: Viva La Verve June Week 4 (I was a real dolt with the Verve Challenges for June. I THOUGHT there was going to be five challenges but there were only four. So, I THOUGHT I had another week to get all my cards loaded up to SCS. Imagine my surprise when I saw yesterday that the first challenge for July had been posted. Doh! That's what happens when you get to be too busy I suppose. Sad since I actually had all the cards done as of last weekend!)

- Through the Craft Room Door: Anything Goes
- Hiding in my Craft Room #104: Freestyle
