Mojo Monday 431 - Feeling Christmas-y

Hi folks,

I'm hoping to do a better of job of staying ahead of the game this year with my 2016 Christmas cards so I decided to whip up a few with this week's Mojo Monday 431 sketch.

I just played around with the paper combos and stamps so that each of the four cards would be a little different. Looking at the photos though, I see I might have to straighten a few of the wooden trees <grin>.

Hi Everyone!

Popping in to share a birthday card I made for dearly beloved's sister-in-law. I do love this paper pack and will be sad once I have used it all up.

Never count those glasses of wine

Hi folks,

This past weekend we helped to celebrate the upcoming 40th birthday of dearly beloved's sister. Her husband pulled off a massive surprise birthday party - with about 60 people or so in attendance.

I pulled out one of my new favourite stamps for her card. Since we're older than her, we can't really poke fun at her age, so this one seemed appropriate - especially since we had picked up a couple of nice bottles of Portugese wine for her (her husband is of Portugese heritage).

Mojo 343 - for a Graduation

Hi folks!

My eldest niece recently graduated from the program she has been doing for the past couple of years at her local college. She is now doing her final work term (she did a Child and Youth Care Worker program) for the next few weeks.

I made this card for her to celebrate her graduation with one of the new stamps I recently ordered from Unity Stamp Company.

card details:
  • finished size: 5.5 x 5.5 inches, black card stock base
  • patterned papers: Kaisercraft "Velvet Crush", distressed edges
  • stamp: Unity Stamp Company "Things To Do: Dream, Wish, Etc" stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black with purple accents from Copic V06
  • embellishments: brads, buttons, purple ribbon, black ribbon, embroidery floss from my stash
  • layout: Mojo Monday 343. I changed it to a square card instead of a tall and skinny.

Age and Glasses of Wine

Hi folks,

I recently bought a bunch of Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamp Company and this card features one of the stamps I just had to have because....well...we have lots of friends who are wine enthusiasts. One of those friends had a birthday recently and I used one of my new stamps on her card.

Mojo 334 Crushing on Violet

Hi folks!

I made some time today to get crafty - I'm attending a 70th birthday party tomorrow and needed to get the card made for the birthday girl.

I looked up this week's Mojo Monday sketch and decided it would be perfect for the papers I wanted to use. The stamp is one of many I have from Heather's Stamping Haven, sadly another LSS which just closed its doors this week (because the owner is retiring and there was no one to take over the store).

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches, black card stock base
  • patterned papers: Kaiser Craft "Violet Crush"
  • stamped image: Frog's Whiskers Ink "Dragonfly" from the "Enchanted Hollow" series, coloured with Copic Markers (YG13, YG23, BV0000, BV000, BV00, BV01, BV08). I replaced the stamped antennae with antennae I made from black crafting wire. Background was sponged with CTMH Amethyst
  • sentiment: Verve "Big Wish"
  • Spellbinders Labels One
  • black satin ribbon and adhesive pearls from my stash
  • layout: Mojo Monday 334

Love to Scrap Challenge #20

Hi folks,

I'm back today with another guest post for the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog. The challenge for the next two weeks is this sketch from Starry Nights Studio

You have two weeks to enter the challenge (until December 29th) and, if you are the winner, you get to choose 5 images from the sponsor of this challenge - Eureka Stamps!

So would you like to see the cards I created with this sketch? That's right - cards! I was still having trouble with my printer when I made the cards for this challenge so I wasn't able to print any of the fabulous digis that are available online in the store so I grabbed a couple of my stamps from my rubber collection.

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches, kraft card stock base, white card stock mats
  • patterned paper: Kaiser Craft "Mint Twist"
  • stamped images: The Greeting Farm "Xmas Sweeties", coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, R000, R37, R39, R56, R59, Y28, C1. Ian hair: E21, E23, E25, E35. Anya hair: E50, E51, E53, E31)

Viva La Verve November 2013 Week 2

Hi folks,

I am definitely starting to panic about getting enough Christmas cards made for this year. So, since I STILL haven't packed away my gear from the crop I attended the first weekend of November, I grabbed the same papers I used for my Week 1 cards to make my Week 2 cards.
