VLVFeb04 - Verve Challenge on SCS

My final card for the Viva La Verve challenge on SCS for February. This {twist} involved using acetate somehow in the card. In my case, I used it as the card base. My dearly beloved thinks more cards need to use acetate - or at least that's what he said when he saw this card.

I'm loving this CTMH paper pack. Perfect for cards for guys or kids. This one goes to my kid brother who celebrates his birthday in early March. Unfortunately, he left to go to sea today so he won't get to see this until he gets back home 40 days from now. I wish him a safe trip.

VLVFeb03 - Verve Challenge on SCS

So the {twist} on this Verve challenge was to remain monochromatic. I tried - I used black, silver and white. I got to use some lovely papers that a dear friend gave me for Christmas AND a Martha Stewart dimensional flower I picked up MONTHS ago at an extreme discount. I took it apart to ink the edges and I think it fits the card quite nicely. I have five more of these flowers, plus six in a pretty coral/pink shade. I think I have some inspiration for a few more thank you, birthday and anniversary cards.......

VLVFeb02 - Verve Challenge on SCS

So this card was made for the VLVFeb02 challenge over on SCS. The {twist} on the challenge was no DP!...So hard for me as I LOVE my DP!!!! So out came the cuttlebug for the circle and my new CTMH intrinsic background stamp for the white panel. I think the card came out purdy enough...mmmmm purdy.....must go eat me a hedgehog.

Sidebar: Purdy's Chocolate's is a Vancouver, BC, Canada company that's makes these delectable chocolates called hedgehogs. When my dearly beloved had to go there in January I gave him directions to the closest Purdy's to his hotel so he could bring me some....and some candied ginger.)

Back to the card: this will go to my dearly beloved's step-mother for her birthday next week. I hope she doesn't follow my blog and get tipped off about her card.

VLVFeb01 - Verve Challenge on SCS

So I saw a post today on one of the blogs I follow regarding the Viva La Verve Challenge for February. Perfect timing as I have a few cards left to make for February and March.

This was for VLVFeb01 - the {twist} was to use embossing. So I embossed the gold panel. This card will go to my dearly beloved's Dad for his birthday. It was today. Hopefully we will see him soon to give this too him!

Same stamp - different Card SCS 216

So...another co-worker birthday card. This time I went a little funky on the colours - but they WERE selected from the colours in the strip of blue. And the problem of colouring the little guy was resolved by using chalk...ah ha!!

The sketch was from SCS 216 over on splitcoast stampers.

A Quick make - loose interpretation of CPS103

The above card was a very quick make and thus a very loose interpretation of the CPS 103 sketch this week seen here http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/2009/02/cps103-part-1.html We were going to the birthday brunch on sunday and I had about 15 minutes in which to make the card. Don't ask....I can be a bit of a procrastinator.

I've had this birthday stamp set from inkadinkado for a while and am just getting around to using the stamps. This one is by far my favourite. I tried colouring in the little guy but the colours just weren't working with the paper I used as the background. So...I restamped him and just added a dot of red to the cherry......mmmmmm cupcakes. There are 24 of them in the kitchen now. They will be going to work tomorrow to celebrate a co-worker's birthday.

I'm about to go make another card using this little guy, for said co-worker's birthday. Maybe the next one will actually be coloured!
