My tenth card with the August PaperCard Kit

I did it -- Peggy promises ten cards with the PaperCard Kits from PaperWorksCo and she isn't kidding! Below is card number 10 for me.


I decided I wanted to do something monochromatic - a big blossom using my Cuttlebug Embossing and Cutting combo - Build a flower.

And look at all the goodies I still have left!

Those partially coloured Miss Anyas and Mermaid Anya are still waiting to be made into cards!

Hi folks,

I have to say it - Peggy is NOT kidding when she says that you can make at least 10 cards with the PaperCard kits that she puts together over at PaperWorksCo.

This is my NINTH card!



I am DETERMINED to use the entire kit just so you can see the assortment of cards you can get from these kits. I *THINK* I have enough of a variety of summery/beachy images to go with the papers I have left. I actually have some Miss Anya and Mermaid Anya images partially coloured as I did their flesh when I did my Surfer Ian a while back. I just need to finish them up and assemble the cards. So those will take care of two more cards....and I am sure that there will still be paper left to use!

For this card I had to play around until I found just the right black ink for this image. The sheer amount of black on the penguin chick required an ink that would give really good, solid coverage. After a few misfires (either the colour wasn't quite right or the coverage wasn't solid), I settled on Black ColorBox Pigment Ink - which meant I had to WAIT for the ink to dry. I actually wound up stamping this image one day and finishing the card the next.

So, how many black ink pads do YOU have? Off the top of my head, I know I have CTMH Black, Stazon Black, Colorbox Black Pigment, Memories Licorice Pigment, Memento Tuxedo Black and a *few" little cubes of black ink -- AND THEY ALL LOOK DIFFERENT!


Oh oh...and did you notice? I am so proud of myself - I actually used the UMBRELLA side of the Umbrellas paper (not the "other" side - sand).


Oh oh...(I feel like Arnold Horshack from Welcome Back, Kotter...did that age me?) and did you notice the picture itself? Yup, I made myself an infinity board! Well, two actually, one white and one black. I like the fact that I don't have a line behind my cards now. This means we are finally going to get around to photographing all the old hand tools that dearly beloved acquired when his Dad shut down the shop.

Can it be? This is card number eight for me from the PaperWorksCo August PaperCard kit .

These papers were the perfect excuse for me to get Surfer Ian from The Greeting Farm .

He is, of course, coloured with PrismaColor Pencils as I have not YET made the leap to Copics.

Anyways, nothing fancy schmancy about this card so the rest of the details follow....

Hallowe'en in August

Can you believe that I have not yet exhausted my August PaperCard kit from PaperWorksCo?

Fur Baby Birthday at our house!

No card today because.....today our oldest fur baby, Packet, turned three! That's him on left.....


Newton, of course, was in on the celebrations too!

Packet's present was his favourite toy mice (a couple of packages, here he just has one)....he loves orange for some reason.



Of course, Packet could not open his card so Doug did the honours....


...A card I had from one of Jenn's workshops that I just could NOT give away it was too cute.


Doug paid a visit to our garden to get Packet (and Newton) some birthday catnip....



yummmmmm....


And then there was salmon (yuck) for dinner!


But they seemed to like it (I had tuna as a backup just in case). Yes, I spoil my kitties.

My first Make N Take from Heather's

Hi all....hope you had a lovely weekend. Where does the time go? I can't believe it is already Tuesday!

Today I am sharing with you the card I made at one of the Make N Takes at Heather's Stamping Haven on Saturday.



I don't know that the photo does the card justice since you can't feel the shimmer card stock (yes, I bought a bunch in all sorts of colours). And the pearl effect from the embossing powder (mint pearl by the way - yes, I got some of that too! As well as a blue). And of course the crystals. Yummy! My stamping of the sentiment leaves a little to be desired - I was a little wonky in lining it up - but, oh well! It was a lovely hour all the same with the rest of the ladies.

I'll be attending another Make N Take on Saturday - a slider card that uses smooch paints! I just wish I had the time to attend more as (1) it's fun and (2) the funds raised go to a good cause. If you are local and haven't had time to check out the schedule - there is still time. I don't know how many open spots there are but....it can't hurt to call to find out!

And, even if you can't take a class, try to stop by the store during the anniversary sale - the new Spellbinders are in and in her blog post from yesterday, Heather says they are 15% off! As are Magnolia stamps and ink pads.
