back with a third post for today with a card I have been avoiding making all weekend but finally sat down to create tonight.

I used this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop and a serene image and sentiment from The Greeting Farm.

A Valentine Pocket Card

Hi again...this is my second post for today so feel free to check out the earlier card as well!

This is the last of my Valentine cards for my nieces and nephews back in Newfoundland.

I made a Pocket Card following the PaperWorksCo Sunday Sketch challenge! ...and here is a picture of it with the tag pulled out so you can see all of "Melinda Blowing Kisses". I picked her up from Michelle's Scrapbooking and More after seeing some of the beautiful cards my friend Tanya makes with the Whiff of Joy stamps.

This card actually works for multiple challenges as well.

• PaperWorksCo is sponsoring this week's challenge at PaperSundaes - something with a valentine theme! 
• And the Pixie Cottage has a challenge to use pink or red. I was MISTAKEN when I thought I had picked up some Pixie Cottage stamps from Michelle's - when I went through my stack of new stamps today I found my Whiff of Joy and StampAVie stamps...no Pixie Cottage! You know what that means -- I need to do some more shopping (especially since some of the Hannah images are being released in a smaller size more suitable for A2 cards).

Anyways - what else about the card? Oh, the papers are Bo Bunny Love Bandit. The ribbon is from my stash, as are the cute pink heart brads. The sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmie (from my Lucy and Ricky stamp again). Oh, Melinda is coloured with Prismacolor pencils and I put some super fine glitter on her wings to add a little sparkle.

Phew....I think that's it for me and the valentine cards....maybe.

A fintastic Valentine

I trust your weekend is going - swimmingly! ba ha ha ha....I couldn't help myself. I decided I needed to use up some of the Mer Ian's (a freebie digi from The Greeting Farm) I coloured up this week and one of them found his way onto this Valentine Card for my nephew.

I used this week's Club Anya and Friends Sketch for the layout. The sentiments are a combination of two different sentiment stamps - one from PaperWorksCo (have a fintastic) and one from Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps (valentines day! from my Lucy and Ricky stamp).

I know it is a bit of a departure to not use pink or red on a Valentine card - but it was for my nephew and with Mer Ian I think it works. Plus, the Cards blog has a challenge to make a lovey dovey card without using pink or red....so...I thought what the heck! I am sorry I can't tell you the manufacturer of these papers - they are all from the "blue" drawer in my paper cabinet and are among some of the first papers I ever bought - some are from M's...some are from a stack I got at Costco when I first started making cards about 3 years ago! Eeep....guess that qualifies this card for this week's challenge at Raise the Bar (the older the better)!

OH! and speaking of lovey dovey, while I was showering this morning I thought to myself that I should ask my sweetie pie if he would like me to make him an "Egg McMuffin a la Sheena"...he said sure....little did he know his egg would be.....

My oldest Magnolia's

Hi ... AGAIN!!! Can you believe this is my third post for today? Trying to get the February occasions out of the way so I can focus on the baby quilt.

The Stampe Shoppe issued a challenge to use your oldest Magnolia and oldest papers. Well, I used one of my oldest CTMH paper packs - the Serendipity Heart of Winter project pack! I have two of them so I figure it is okay if I cut into one of them.

I couldn't remember which was my oldest Magnolia but these two were on the first page of my Magnolia binder - which means they are pretty early purchases. Dreamy Tilda and Giggling Tilda.

 

As you can see, I used the same sketch from KL Stampin and Scrappin for the layout, but just switched up the papers and the images.

Both cards also qualify for the Just Magnolia challenge to use hearts and flowers.

• the papers are covered in flowers and I have added three lacy flowers for embellishment and
• my perfectly coordinated eyelets in the upper right corner are actually heart shaped!

AND....we aren't done with the challenges folks! Giggling Tilda actually fits in with the Saturday Spotlight challenge - bigger is better! She is actually larger than the panel on which I have placed her - her little legs are dangling over the edge! Plus...well, both cards are not your average size A2 - they are a whopping 6x6 inches -- that's extra postage here in Canada because they are considered OVERSIZE! That's a shame too because I have been making lots of 6x6 cards lately....

Charlotte's Sweet Shop

Hi again,

back with another Valentine card for another of my nieces! I am again featuring Charlotte from the Freckle Love Collection from the Little Loud Stamps line (exclusive to PaperWorksCo).

So nice, I made her twice - this time keeping her hair colour the same!

The papers I used are from the Bo Bunny Love Bandit Collection.

The layout is from this week's Friday Sketchers challenge. I switched out the sentiment element, though, for the cute little flower. That means that this card also fits the Paper Sundaes recipe challenge to build a sundae - using brown, pink, lace and flowers. Actually, if you look closely, one of the Bo Bunny papers has flowers made out of hearts as well AND the lace actually has a blossom pattern!

hmm..now I want an ice cream sundae....chocolate ice cream with cherry sauce and some lightly toasted sliced almonds...and I know I have all of that in the kitchen. mmmmm and some freshly whipped cream (also in the fridge!)

Hope you weekend is continuing to be wonderful! My sweetie is sick so I think I'll be spending the evening in the craft room!

Be Loved Charlotte x2

Hi folks,

I figured I should tackle the Valentine cards for my nieces and nephew today. Up first is one for my youngest niece.

Doesn't sweet Charlotte from the Freckle Love Collection by Little Loud Stamps (exclusive to PaperWorksCo) look so cute with these My Mind's Eye Be Loved papers from the January PaperCard kit from PaperWorksCO? So cute in fact that I made two cards!

Now, here is where my goober-ish tendencies show, yet again! I don't think I actually know anyone with black hair to whom I can give this card! I guess I can hope that our new niece will have dark hair like her daddy and that she will make an appearance before Feb 14.

I used this week's Create4Fun Sketch Challenge for the layout AND  the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge was to use Hearts! Since darling Charlotte is holding a heart and has hearts in her hair - I think this qualifies.

Since these are valentine cards, I decided to go with a smaller format - they are 4.25 inches square. The images were coloured with PrismaColor Pencils except for the hearts which are coloured with Smooch Paints in Siren.

Pixie Cottage New Release!

Hi again,

have you seen the new stamps coming from the Pixie Cottage? They are just too adorable - I love the little fairy with the petal skirt - reminds me of my niece!

I do believe I actually picked up a couple Pixie Cottage stamps recently. At least I think I did - isn't that sad....I have so many new stamps sitting in my craft room that I have not yet played with that I don't even know what I have purchased any more! My crafting pal Tanya quite often uses Pixie Cottage stamps on her cards and they are amazing! I think she should be on their DT as her style fits so nicely with the images. If you flip through her blog you will be sure to see some delightful cards.

Oh, and the other exciting news at the Pixie Cottage is that a new SMALLER set of Hannah images is being released for those of us who make a lot of A2 cards since the originals are better suited to larger cards. Good news!
