Round 2 of the Royal Battle at TGF

The entries are in for Round Two of the Royal Battle at the Greeting Farm.

This week, Corinne stepped forward for the challenge to make an easel card.

I think her card is way more creative than anything I could have come up with! Are you a card-making trend watcher? Corinne hit so many of them on this card - her use of fabric, her use of felties,  her use of the flag banner, her retro 80s Anya, I could go on and on. Just fabulous!

A new challenge blog for TGF fans

Hi folks,

I'm back but with nothing crafty - I was just too busy today. I was a "bad" girl and went to Wallack's - where  I bought another 16 Copic markers. I apparently have little to no self-control. Actually, I think I did good - I didn't buy ALL the copics they have in stock that I don't have in my collection (yet). As I said to dearly beloved "I KNOW I am going to wind up buying all of them eventually so I'm not just going to buy a couple at a time, I'm going to make the drive worthwhile." okay - it's like 7 minutes from my house -- but on a saturday, on easter weekend, the traffic WAS annoying. I HAD to reward myself appropriately....tee hee hee.

Anways, on to the reason why I am writing. I was catching up on today's blog reading when I saw a post about one of the DT members of Magnolia Down Under departing due to her commitments to her newly started Anya Ink Challenge Blog. They just put up their first challenge on Friday - anything goes!

So, if you are a fan of TGF stamps, you might want to add this to your blog reading list. I did - hope to put my most recent purchases to good use once they arrive!

Pixie Cottage New stamps and blog candy

Hi folks,

just a quick post to let you know about this post over at the Pixie Cottage. The new collection of stamps are in and Michelle has some yummy candy up for grabs.

My personal faves are the Girls of  the World....the Scottish one is just too cute...

I think I will have to add her to my stamp collection - and colour her tartan sash in the McMillan clan colours of course!

Third post for today - Pink Cat Studio DT call

Hi all, just passing along news of another design team call - this one is for Pink Cat Studio. You can find all the details here at the post on the Pink Cat Studio Blog.

I won't be applying even though I LOVE their stamps. I still have quilting projects, etc that need to be started/completed so just keeping up with making the cards I NEED to make to celebrate the special occasions of friends and family is a challenge.

But, for those of you who like those cute images as much as I do, apply! And if you are local and would like to borrow some of my PCS rubber to do some cards for your DT application, just contact me via my email link on the sidebar. A card fit for a Princess

Princess Amelia that is -- soooooo.....if you are Amelia's Mom and you don't want to know what the card is before she opens it.....TURN AWAY NOW!!!!  Really.....I mean it......I don't think the pictures do it justice.


Okay.....everybody except Chrissy still here? Tee hee hee....I could not wait to share this card. I am SOOOO pleased with myself (there I go, being immodest again). And really, I could have saved this post until late Saturday afternoon, after the Princesses and Princes party, I did post a Fella card earlier today after all.


I was totally bummed this morning when I realized "Oh....Amelia's birthday is all about princesses! And I don't have Princess Anya! (she's on the way though with my April release order from TGF). What am I going to do?" I thought of hitting up some of my local TGF fans to see if they might have the stamp already. Then I was thinking of a few of my favourite digi sites who have just released a bunch of princess images and was going to go for one of those when I remembered my StarvingArtistamps Doodlefactory FairyTale set! Woo hoo! Of course, I got distracted and TRIED to do my inventory page of StarvingArtistamps. I had it FINISHED, all the entries LINKED...and then blogger CHOKED when I tried to save the page. LOST EVERYTHING!

Anyways, got back to making the card. I Knew I HAD to do a sidestep card with a little fairytale scene so  THEN I  had to find a tutorial. SCS does have a link to a fabulous one by the way. The actual tutorial is here and the SCS blurb about it can be found here in the TLC257 challenge.

Now that I have written enough that Chrissy didn't accidentally see the card.....here it is....Please forgive the photography. I find the dimensional cards hard to photograph.

I think it came out quite nice (there I go, no modesty today!). The small bits of DP are CTMH Daydream - a perfect pack of paper for princess projects (ba ha ha .... it's alliteration day!). Oh and the sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio (the Fairy Friends set).

This isn't a big card.....the card base is a 5.5 x 8.5 sheet of CTMH Sweet Leaf. The neat folds just make it look a lot bigger. Pretty cool, huh? I got a LOT of practice with my Copics. And realized I need more shades of green, pink and lilac. I might have to pay a visit to Wallack's again tomorrow (sketch markers for $5.99, their selection isn't huge but I might find a few more).

The Frog Prince Mortimer, popped up on dimensionals, even has itty-bitty gems on his crown (tip - these are from the "extra" gem alphas I had a couple of years ago for a project from my niece. I just cut them off the letters I am least likely to use on future projects. They are so tiny and are a real pain to attach - thank goodness they are self-adhesive!)

The star of the card - I tried to colour her to look like the birthday girl.

Princess Winifred. She has some bling as well....two more of those teeny tiny gems are sparkling up her dress. Since I did add some "diamonds" to this card,  I am going to submit it for the "Diamond for April" challenge over at Daring Cardmakers.

Oh, and one more shot to show you why this card took me some time to make.

The castle consists of the three layers, each of which was fully-coloured before I chose which would be each layer. Again, the pictures really don't do the card justice.

New Stamps!!!

Hi all,

I have decided that I do like birthdays after all - especially when they come with new stamping goodies! My dear friend Chrissy added to my collection of Stamping Bella Stamps for my birthday! I now have three (new to me!) fellas! And I think all three of them are going to get used this weekend as I have at least three guy birthdays I need cards for before the end of the weekend!

Here is the first card made with my new "Grillafella"! The sketcharoonie is this week's Bellarific Friday Challenge sketch so I'll be sending a pic to Em. I don't often find the time to play along - my poor Bella's and Ketto's are sadly neglected. But with the long weekend, I'm hoping to find lots of stamping time.

All of the papers and the embellishments are from the March PaperCard Kit from PaperWorksCo. If you missed out on your chance to get this kit, Peggy has all the Animal Stackers Papers from 3BugsInARug available for purchase in the store. I found that the papers are great not just for little boy cards but for BIG BOY cards as well.

I coloured my new fella (well, actually I coloured FOUR of him -- planning ahead for more birthdays and father's day) with Prismacolor Pencils (927, 912, 911, 1034, 946, 1031, 1025, 1032 and 1067) to coordinate with the DP. The image panel is a Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels One die cut.

Oh, the sentiment is from the CTMH Seasonal Celebration Stamp Set. I do like the font on the sentiments in that set and you probably see it here quite frequently.

So, I'll also be entering this card for challenge 32 over at ALOTARubberStamps this week:

• 3 of something: I have three buttons!
• 2 of something: I used two stamps (Grillafella from StampingBella and my sentiment from CTMH)
• 1 of something: I ONLY used one designer paper on this card. (How is THAT possible? I almost always use more than one DP!)

AND....I'll be submitting the card for the "Anything Goes" challenge over at Crafty Creations.
