A reminder of just how old I am

Just thought I would share the card I made for my baby brother. We share a birthday month (March). His birthday is at the beginning of the month and mine is at the end. So, every year, I get a reminder 4 weeks before MY birthday that I am soon going to be another year older - thanks to my little brother celebrating HIS birthday a few weeks before me.

Well, this year, he has a milestone birthday so I get to point that out to him on his card.

Of course, I am the OLDER sister so I'm allowed to comment on his aging <grin>. I'm sure he will chuckle when he gets this card.

For Valentine's Day

Hi folks,

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Now that Valentine's Day has come and gone, I can share this year's projects.

Up first are a few Valentine's Day Treat Bags that I sent off with my dearly beloved on Friday night to his D&D group.

I had forgotten that I had ordered them from Close To My Heart and when I finally opened my most recent box of goodies I figured I had better put them to use. The one in front was for dearly beloved - the rest went to his pals. He was a REAL sweetie and also picked up flowers for their DM when he got mine on his way to their evening of fun. She's the only woman in their little nerd herd.


Since I didn't use the mushy, lovey dovey stickers from the treat bag kit on the kisses I put in the treat bags for his friends, I put them on the kisses in the jar on the left below for my sweetie. He also likes jujubes so I had picked up some of those as well and decorated a second jar.

I do a LOT of canning so there are always empty jars in the basement and these were a quick little project to fill and decorate. I used papers from the Heartstrings Paper Pack from Close To My Heart.


And finally, the card I made for my sweetie.

I thought about using one of my punny stamps from Unity (I have quite a few that I have not used yet) but I wanted to stick with my tradition of making a CAS card with a bit of elegance. I quite like how this one turned out. Red, black and a bit of bling.

For a 5th Birthday Celebration

Hi there crafty peeps,

Just popping in to share the card I made for dearly beloved's niece's 5th birthday. Her birthday is in a couple of days but her birthday party was yesterday. Lots of little kiddos and lots of yummy treats for young and old alike.

I must say, it was a real treat for me to sit down and colour this cute little image from "The Greeting Farm". It seems like forever since I did any colouring (it HAS been a while) and pairing this image with these bright, cheerful papers from the CTMH Hopscotch collection seemed like just the right combo in the middle of a dreary Canadian February.

I'm back to share to the last of the cards I made with the Close To My Heart "Just Because" kit for my T.O.P.S. group. I think our Sunshine Girl will be pleased with these.

I keep them fairly CAS without bulky embellishments since they are usually posted instead of hand-delivered. But I couldn't help adding a little bit of bling. After all, doesn't a little bling cheer up pretty much everybody?

Badass Friends with Flair

Just thought I would pop in today to share this recent creation with one of my new stamps from Unity Stamp Co - and it so happens that today is also Friends with Flair Friday at Unity! Awesome!


If you've been following my blog for the last year or so, you know that I have taken up running as a form of exercise. It's all because I reconnected with a high school friend after a couple of decades of life going in different directions. She's a runner and encouraged me to join her on a couple of races this past year.


She celebrated a birthday recently and this is the card I made for her.

I know - the sentiment is not very "birthday-ish" but I think it suits her to a T. And that sequined bow? I think it is just perfect if I do say so myself. I love the juxtaposition of the girlie girl bow with the cool sentiment.
