Soccer Josh - SCRS Challenge #115

Hi folks,

Long time no blogging! I've been VERY busy this past week as we were preparing to head to Newfoundland for my brother's wedding. Yesterday was a very long day for us - flying half-way across the country and then driving half-way across the province. Today, we've basically been recovering. Mother Nature was kind enough to oblige us with a crappy weather day (raining all day and windy to boot!) so we didn't get out and about to walk along the beach or to go sight-seeing around the peninsula. I had lots of time on my hands so I figured I may as well get to writing up a few blog posts.

Of course, this past weekend was Thanksgiving here in Canada so we spent Thanksgiving day with my dearly beloved's family. In addition to celebrating Thanksgiving, we also celebrated the recent birthday of the youngest nephew. He is a VERY sporty little boy so I decided it was high time that I get around to mounting my "Soccer Josh" stamp so I could ink him up for his card.

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything Goes!

Hi folks,

Wow! Where is this week going? Can you believe it is Wednesday already? That means it is time to share my creation for the latest challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters.

Our current challenge is everyone's favourite - Anything Goes! That's right, until October 20th we would love to see you link up your crafty creations - whatever inspires you!

Fitztown is the challenge sponsor this time around so be sure to pay them a visit and browse through the online store at the beautiful digital images available. There is an INCREDIBLE variety of fabulous images and I must confess to having a difficult time choosing JUST one with which to create. But choose I did - this beautiful image from the Winter Collection. The little girl looks so much like one of the daughters of a dear friend of mine that I just had to have this image to create a special Christmas card just for her.

Be sure to check out the challenge post at The Sisterhood of Crafters to see what my fellow "sisters" are sharing today as well!

card details:
  • finished size: 5x5 inches white card stock base, kraft card stock mats
  • patterned paper: Fancy Pants "Saint Nick"
  • digi image: Fitztown "Winter #10", coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, E04, B45, BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15, BG000, BG0000, Y28, E21, E23, E25, E27, E29) and the background is sponged with CTMH Heavenly Blue

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Challenge #25 - Photo Inspiration

Hi folks,

It's Sunday so that means I am sharing my Team Fumi creation for Challenge #25 over at the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Challenge Blog.

Challenge #25 is an Inspiration Photo challenge and you have until this coming Friday to link up your challenge entries at the Y&FH challenge post for a chance to win!

Here's a quick glimpse of the inspiration photo for you:

And here's my card:

I was obviously inspired by the colours! And maybe a little more subtly you can see how the table setting inspired my layout. - the table runner, the round flower arrangements with their alternating colours and even the little mini-cakes so nicely placed all in a a row. Of course, with those pretty lanterns I HAD to use an image from the Kimono series.

card details:
  • finished size: 5x5 inches, white card stock base
  • patterned paper: My Mind's Eye Lime Twist
  • stamped image: Yumi & Fumi Handmade Yumi Peace Sign coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, YG21, YG23, YG25, R81, R83, R85, E21, E23, E25) and Sakura White Gelly Roll Marker
  • sentiment: Verve "Joyous Noel" (yes a CHRISTMAS sentiment but it works!)
  • buttons: CTMH Blush, Pear
  • ribbon: CTMH Pear
  • white embroidery floss from my stash
