A new baby

Hi folks,

It's Friday and, normally, I would be sharing my creation for the Sister Act Card Challenge today. We're still on our Christmas break (until NEXT Friday, January 10th) so I don't have anything to officially share. But I figured I WOULD do a little reminder post that you can still link up until then to our current "Anything Goes" card challenge (#38).

We recently welcomed a new baby to my dearly beloved's family - another niece! The girls definitely outnumber the boys in our extended families - between us dearly beloved and I have three nephews and NINE nieces.

This is the card I made to go with the gift to welcome baby Peyton to the family - very C.A.S. as I was kind of pressed for time when I made it.

card details:

  • finished size: 5x5 inches, white card stock base, CTMH Blush for the circular mat
  • patterned papers: DCWV Nana's Nursery "Baby Girl". I bought that 12x12 stack of paper what seems like year ago but it always comes in handy for baby girl cards!
  • stamped image and sentiment: Verve "Treasured Words"

Last Christmas card for 2013

Hi folks,

well, I am closing out 2013 with the last of the Christmas cards I made this year. I have a terrible confession though - I didn't mail out ANY of my Christmas cards this year. Some DID get hand delivered to local friends and family. But any that had to be posted didn't make it - not even to MY family. I feel terribly guilty about that but I just wasn't feeling the Christmas spirit this year and left it too late. But I may wind up making a big batch of New Year's cards tomorrow to send out.

Anyways, this little cutie DID find her way to the daughter of friends of ours on boxing day when dearly beloved paid them a visit . I wasn't up to visiting as I had work the next day - and still wasn't feeling all that much like celebrating truth be told.

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Monthly Challenge #3 - Inspiration Photo

Hi folks,

We're back from our holiday break at Yumi & Fumi Handmade! And since it is a Sunday you know what that means - I am sharing my Team Fumi creation for our month long challenge over at the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Challenge Blog.

Our December challenge is an inspiration photo challenge and you have until this coming Friday to link up your challenge entries at the Y&FH challenge post for a chance to win!

Just in case you need a little reminder, here's the photo:

And here is my creation, featuring a golden Winter Fumi.

As you can see, I was inspired by the white and gold colours and by the glimmering golden sparkle of the trees and decorative accents.

card details:
  • finished size: 5.5 x 5.5 inches, kraft card stock base

  • sentiment: Verve "Holiday Greetings"
  • golden brads and embroidery floss from my stash

Mojo Monday 322

Hi folks,

Back to share another card that I made when I made this card for Rosie, one of my fellow team mates over at Yumi & Fumi Handmade. I figured that since I had everything out, it would be quick to whip up another card using the same supplies - but this one without a coloured image.

I used the same sketch - just flipped it to make it a little different.

Another Snow Queen

Hi folks,

just a quick post today as I wait to catch the bus down town. I'm on course this week and it is simply easier to take the bus than it is to drive and find a place to park. Of course, it just so happens that it is frakkin' cold here in Ottawa this week - it's not quite 7am as I write this and it is only -27°C outside (that's -16°for those that follow the Fahrenheit scale). Makes standing at the bus stop rather bone chilling!

I figure since it is so darn cold, it is only fitting that I share another card using Elsa the Snow Queen from Simply Betty Stamps.

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches, kraft card stock base, white card stock mat
  • patterned papers: My Mind's Eye Lost & Found "Oliver"
  • digital image: Simply Betty Stamps "Elsa the Snow Queen", coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, E04, B91, B93, B99, E50, E51, E53, Y28, Y26, Y23, Y32) with a little shimmer added with my clear star gelly roll pen.
  • sentiment: Verve
  • Spellbinders Petite Ovals
  • wooden snowflake die cuts and a gem from my stash
  • layout: Sketch Saturday 288 (I flipped the sketch)

Love to Scrap Challenge #20

Hi folks,

I'm back today with another guest post for the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog. The challenge for the next two weeks is this sketch from Starry Nights Studio

You have two weeks to enter the challenge (until December 29th) and, if you are the winner, you get to choose 5 images from the sponsor of this challenge - Eureka Stamps!

So would you like to see the cards I created with this sketch? That's right - cards! I was still having trouble with my printer when I made the cards for this challenge so I wasn't able to print any of the fabulous digis that are available online in the store so I grabbed a couple of my stamps from my rubber collection.

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches, kraft card stock base, white card stock mats
  • patterned paper: Kaiser Craft "Mint Twist"
  • stamped images: The Greeting Farm "Xmas Sweeties", coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, R000, R37, R39, R56, R59, Y28, C1. Ian hair: E21, E23, E25, E35. Anya hair: E50, E51, E53, E31)
  • sentiment: Verve "Ornamental Christmas"
  • Stampin' Up Word Window Punch
  • buttons from my stash
