February Viva La Verve Week 4

Hi folks,

I found myself with some time to get crafty yesterday so I made my card for the week 4 Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge. I still haven't done my cards yet for week 2 or week 3 but hopefully I will have time. I'm also doubling it up with the Verve challenge for the SCS Lovefest. The aqua + brown + yellow colour challenge. I know in the photograph my pale aqua looks more green, but trust me on this...it's pale aqua in real life.

card details:

  • finished size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches, kraft card stock base
  • patterned paper: My Mind's Eye "Sunshine", edges inked with Memento Rich Coca
  • stamps: Verve "With Love"
  • golden yellow brads from my stash
  • EK Success Scalloped Scallops Edge Punch

Sparkle Creations Challenge 99 - Lace

Hi folks!

Yay it's Tuesday and today marks the beginning of a new challenge over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps and I get to play along again as a guest DT! How cool is that?

For this challenge, we would like to see you use lace on your projects. That could be a pretty lace ribbon, a lovely lace flower, a lace panel, a lacy patterned paper, a lacy doily, a lacy edge punch, a lacy die cut......whatever strikes your fancy as long as it is lacy!

I recently saw a tutorial posted online over at Really Reasonable Ribbon about making rosettes from lace ribbon. As luck would have it, I have oodles of self-adhesive lace ribbon in my stash from a deal I picked up on Pick Your Plum some months ago (saved me one of the steps in the tutorial!). So, I decided to try my hand at making my little lace flower for this card.

If you look carefully you will see that the panel behind the Celebrating Chloe image has a scattering of lace doilies as well!

Be sure to check out the rest of the inspiration projects from the design team back at the Sparkle Creations blog. Then, get crafty and link up your project using a Sparkle Creations image before the challenge deadline to be eligible to win some new Sparkle Creations rubber for your collection!

And don't forget, Sparkle has a fantastic sale on right now so be sure to place your order before it ends!

card details:
  • finished size: 5 x 6.5 inches, white card stock base, CTMH Cocoa card stock for mats

SCS Lovefest with StampingBella

Hi folks,

well, as usual, I did not get to spend nearly as much time in my crafty space as I had hoped. Absolutely none yesterday as I started out with the household errands and chores and just never made it into the craft room. Today, I did things in reverse. Into the craft room before 7am to make a couple of cards. Good thing too! I came out at 10:30am and never found my way back.

Anyways, I had wanted to play along with a couple more of the Lovefest challenges going on over at SplitCoastStampers. I saw the "Bring on the Bling" challenge from Stamping Bella and just had to play along.

Mojo Monday 281

Hi folks,

Well, this card did not turn out quite the way I had imagined it.

Don't get me wrong. I REALLY like it. But I sat down to make this card for a friend of mine for her birthday. I wanted to use the Mojo Monday 281 sketch AND I wanted to use the colour inspiration from the Splitcoaststampers Lovefest challenge. But, when all was said and done, this card came out a little too masculine looking for me to give to my friend. So into the stash it goes for an upcoming male birthday.
