Fumi with Gift

hi folks,

Have you been playing along with the Spread the Love event at Yumi & Fumi? There is a month long celebration which you get to via the link on my sidebar.

One of the events is to create a project using a Y & F image. I decided to use Fumi with Gift for a birthday card for a friend of mine.

card details:

  • finished size: 5x5 inches, white card stock base
  • patterned paper: Authentique "Gathering"
  • stamped image: Yumi & Fumi "Fumi with Gift", coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, E57, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, G94, E77, E79, YR01, YR02)
  • sentiment: Verve "Purely Sentimental"
  • flowers from my stash
  • layout: Sketch 'n Stash 112

Sorry for the brevity of my posts these days - I am currently in Newfoundland helping out my parents as my Dad had hip replacement surgery a couple of days ago and typing on my tablet, even with my bluetooth keyboard, is a different experience than on my laptop! But thank goodness for the keyboard - typing on screen is even less enjoyable!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Long Time, No Tilda

Hi folks,

back today with the last of my Easter/Spring cards. This one was for my youngest niece. I know - bad Auntie - it SHOULD be arriving tomorrow - way after Easter. That's why I'm calling these my Spring cards. Not Easter cards.

It's been a long time since I coloured up one of my Tilda images so I figured I would use this one as it kind of looks like my niece.

card details:

  • finished size: 5 x 5 inches, white card stock base. CTMH (can't remember if it is Blush or Baby Pink) card stock mat
  • patterned paper: My Mind's Eye "Dolled Up"
  • stamped image: Tilda with newly hatched chick from the 2010 Magnolia Hoppy Easter collection, coloured with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, E93, E31, E33, E35, E37, E27, Y06, Y08, YR04, RV00, RV11,  RV13, RV23, BG32, BG34,  BG0000, BG000)
  • sentiment: Verve "Egg-stra Special", stamped in CTMH Juniper

  • EK Success Diamond Lace Border Punch
  • CTMH Hollyhock buttons
  • ivory seam binding
  • Layout: Pink Gem #75

Retro-Fresh with TGF

Hi folks,

Back today sharing one of my very late Easter/Spring cards for one of my nieces. I don't really have a lot of Easter stamps for my older nieces and nephews so I decided to mod another image to have an Easter theme.

SCRS 102 - Washi Tape Challenge

Hi folks,

So, I have a terrible confession to make. I was REALLY, REALLY late sending home my Easter cards this year. I think it was a combination of no mojo, the blahs, feeling overwhelmed and my birthday and Easter falling on the same day.

I finally got around to making the last of my Easter - well, Spring cards now....so off they went into the post today (express - ouch that was pricey) along with the little Easter/Spring prezzies for the nieces and nephew.

I REALLY wanted to use one of the boys from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps on the card for my nephew, so I checked out my stash of stamps to see what I could mod for Easter/Spring.

So, what do you think? Does it work? I thought about using Video Game Oliver but I'm saving that one to use for his birthday.

Normally, Backpack Oliver is holding an apple for back to school for the teacher, but I swapped out the apple for an Easter Egg instead. I think that the sentiment I used ties in very nicely, what with the back-pack on his back and all.

I also dug into my stash of crafting supplies for some washi tape that I could use so I could play along with this week's challenge over at the SCRS blog.

Believe it or not, I have very little in my stash when it comes to washi tape (anyone want to recommend a good source so I can remedy that terrible error?). But I thought this one would work well with the papers I chose (it was part of a crafty present from my dear friend Tanya - along with the crinkly ribbon).

Seize the Birthday #13

Hi folks,

One of dearly beloved's D&D pals (Dungeons and Dragons for you non-geeks out there), celebrated a birthday recently. Since they played at our house last night and it was the first time we had seen him since his birthday, we were able to give him this card.

I quite like the look of this paper against the black card stock - very dramatic, very masculine.
