Viva La Verve September Week 4

Hi folks!

Just thought I would pop in this morning to share my creation for the September Week 4 Viva La Verve Sketch challenge before I get busy canning in my kitchen again. Yes - I AM actually up this early on a saturday morning. I've been up since a little after 5am.

This one is an anniversary card for my parents - another one of the many occasions in my family during the month of October. This year they are celebrating 44 years of married life.

Birthday Wishes!

Surprise!!! Earlier this month, Denice, one of my fellow design team members at Yumi & Fumi Handmade celebrated her birthday. Well, even though we are a little late, the rest of us didn't want to let the occasion go by without sending her BIG BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!! So today we are throwing a little online party in her honour!

The Sisterhood of Crafter's - Tag You're It!

Hi folks!

It's Wednesday and that means it is time to share my creation for the current challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Until October 6th we're playing a little game of "Tag You're It!". That's right, we would love to see you feature a tag on card or project!

I decided to make the tag on my card removable - so it can be used by the recipient as an inspirational book mark!

Here's t card with the tag tucked in behind the image and sentiment panels. The panels are popped up with dimensional foam tape and the buttons at the top of the tag help to keep it from sliding down too far behind the image panel. Clever, huh?

And here's a photo of the card with the tag so you can see the inspirational message.

I think both sentiments I chose for this project work very well with the image.

Now get busy creating! I can't wait to check out your creations for the "Tag You're It" Challenge!.

Mojo Monday 311

Good morning everybody!!!

It's early for a Saturday morning but anyone who knows me knows that I am an early riser (I've been up since 5am) . I've got a busy day planned for today. I'll be canning pear butter that I have had simmering in my crock pot for hours on end this week AND I'll be canning pickled beets. So, I thought I would pop on the old interwebs and share this card while I wait for my dishwasher to finish washing the jars before I sterilize them in my canner.

It has been a while since I have had a chance to play along with the Mojo Monday sketches so when I sat down to make a card for a friend of mine I took a look at this week's sketch and decided to use it.
